i guess it's been mostly on non-anime related forums, like twitch, podcasts like co-optional and things like that. I'm not saying it isn't good cause it is and very enjoyable
You forget that most of those people haven't watched anime before 2010 except for rare exceptions. Hell most of the anime community think anything before 2010 is too old. Internet being dumb is nothing new.
Most people being like Emnjay is a horrifying thought

I try not to think about it too much. It's safer that way.

Does 8bit even have access to decent directors/script writers to pull that off? I have my doubts.
You find out that Literally Onodera and Raku have liked each other since they were kids.....aaaand 0 progress lol. Chitoge even said she wants to marry him when she grows up but then bowed out to Onodera when she found out they like each other....just like she did today (tho she doesn't know he also likes her too). So silly lmao. Especially since Chitoge will probably win for reasons hue.

I'm not sure how they will handle actually producing an anime. AFAIK they normally just handle animation or CGI production.
edit: According to ANN, that's indeed what they are doing, producting the animation. Aniplex is the producer for the show.
You can see how they handled a production of an original. The name was Comet Lucifer.

Imagine missing out on Monster, LoGH, TTGL, Katanagatari, Gundam, Gunbuster and a ton of other classic, great and wonderful anime with many of them still easily holding up to or surpassing today's animation quality.
People are just dumb. They think old anime are eye-cancer, yet they drool over still frames with some shaders. It's amazing. It's their loss however, not ours. It's only aggravating if those people try to convince other people of their opinion.
This reminds me I need to finish the last few eps of logh again. I kind of stopped because I didn't want it to end and got scared ;(. Doesn't even matter if I know what's going to happen. It's just scary.
edit: People STILL expect progression from Nisekoi? Come now.

lol Numy...
And now, I'm just interested what the author of Nisekoi makes up so I can talk shit on the internet. No honestly, it just amuses me. Well, it also saddens me because it has such a huge fanbase. They are probably all submissive masochists. There is no other explanation. Who in their right mind would be fan of a work of fiction if it takes a piss at the fans with each new release?
I don't know if Nisekoi is that popular anymore. It was when it was fresher and not as dragged out but mostly people are over it. Its like a Bleach or Naruto type thing, and hell a lot of more people read those two.

Yeah, I wonder...

Well, I haven't read neither Nisekoi nor Bleach or Naruto but don't the latter ones feature at least some substance while Nisekoi is just 170 chapters of irrelevance?
Well Nisekoi merely continued to do what it has always done, just became stale because it is dragged out and its lost its charm. Bleach and Naruto are 4x longer and people complained that the latter parts "ruined" the story heh.
yeah tbh i personally dont really watch anime from before 2006, only got into anime a few years ago and even then i was your typical shounen-only person who practically watched only the super popular (not necessarily good but not necessarily bad either) ones like Fairy Tail, Bleach, Naruto etc but im definitely considering some of the recommendations you guys have made here, when i can find time i would certainly watch them i guess.

According to this recent interview with Romeo Tanaka, the series was originally planned to be a direct adaptation, but over time the direction shifted toward a more liberal adaptation as original developments were introduced. Tanaka mentions that the early part of the series will closely resemble the original visual novel, but toward the middle of the series it will begin to deviate significantly from the original story.
Chihaya's supernatural strength will receive more focus. Akane will be relatively unchanged. Shizuru may appear a little more mature. Lucia will receive a never-before-seen combat outfit. Kagari will feature a more central role in this adaptation than before, with a more developed personality.
Now that Kosaki is the actual promised girl this would setup for Chitoge's victory later well. With all the "past doesn't matter what matters is the present" etc talk.
Which would make Kosaki the "fake love" etc etc

Well the later parts did ruin Naruto. For bleach it lasted like 1 good arc which was the soul society arc.
The war on terror exploded, literally, the day Sarajevo was destroyed by a homemade nuclear device. The leading democracies transformed into total surveillance states, and the developing world has drowned under a wave of genocides. The mysterious American John Paul seems to be behind the collapse of the world system, and it's up to intelligence agent Clavis Shepherd to track John Paul across the wreckage of civilizations and to find the true heart of darkness—a genocidal organ.

Jokes on them, I guess since 80s OVAs legitmately look better than most things made now days. Cels are OP, and they actually did shading back then.

Shizuru appears more mature, as in might look older...? And Kagari having a personally? wtf did these people not pay attention Kagari isn't supposed to have a personality! Unless they are doing Oppai Route, in which case I whole-heartedly agree with the decision.
I just hope they don't deviate too far when they get to Moon route. That shit was the best part of the VN.

agree. Comet Lucifer went downhill maybe by episode 4 or 5? I dropped it about halfway and never went back.
At any rate, I doubt Comet Lucifer is indicative of how Rewrite will get adapted. The anime don't really share any key staff positions, and 8bit apparently is just producing the animation, instead of the whole thing.

This season sucked for me. There were only two shows I actually looked forward to, with the rest being mediocre or awful. At least it gave me time to go through my backlog.
I finished Stellvia. I liked it! The MC being a girl and a genius programmer is honestly pretty rare. The romance sucked (exception being the romance for the side chars - that ended up being pretty cute). The growth of the MC is essentially the point of the show, and it did a decent job of it. However, they basically go over the same development three times (MC must overcome her crippling lack of confidence!) in three different arcs. It got a little tiring by the end. That said, the plot was solid, and I quite liked the sci-fi elements.
I also watched Hibike Euphonium. I think it's the first Kyoani show I've finished in years. Kyoani is such a frustrating studio for me. I generally like their art and direction, but the vast majority of stories they adapt are stories I hate.
Anyways, Eupho was alright. They touched on some interesting issues, but annoying, they stopped short of actually exploring them in any meaningful detail. A lot of the developments also felt really rushed, and many of them didn't have satisfying conclusions. The final arc in particular felt odd. After the big competition, they leave the outcome open, which suggests that what really matters is the journey. However, the journey wasn't really all that impressive/heartwarming/etc. The plot in the last arc basically boils down to Kumiko wanting to improve. To do so, she practices a lot, but doesn't improve enough. And then the concert comes and apparently she's improved enough? They tried to show her struggle, but I don't feel it was particularly convincing or sympathetic. Most sports anime do it better than that.
The art was good, but my god Kyoani lays the post-processing on thick. There's times where it seems more distracting and overdone than anything else.
The romance was real bad. I kind of expect a token romance in any given Kyoani show, and sure enough, this one had no real substance. The whole love triangle was utterly pointless. I also fully expected the yuri-baiting, but I wasn't prepared for how utterly blatant they were willing to make it.
Shoutouts to Natsuki somehow becoming the best girl in the show despite being awful at first.
For next season:
I've heard some good things about Sweetness and Lightning, so I'll give that a try.
Arslan
I'm suffering from Daiya withdrawal, so maybe Battery can fill the void.
Ilya 3rei should be good. Maybe they'll even reach the cooler parts (I doubt it).
I've read enough of Handa-kun to know I don't like it. It's a straight comedy, not an iyashikei like Barakamon, and it's not even a good comedy at that.
All this positivity about Rewrite is strange. If previous adaptations of Key works have been any indication, Rewrite is gonna suck. The quality of the individual routes varies wildly, and no amount of changes is likely to salvage some of them + Show Spoiler +
Maybe not-Chihaya route will actually be about Chihaya though~
. I've also yet to see an anime that handles route changes in a satisfactory manner. A whole new route is also kind of a huge red flag. The cherry on top is that OP2 (the spoiler OP) for the VN is almost certainly going to better than whatever they come up with for the anime.
I'm going to watch Amanchu no matter what, but I still think Pikari's design is exceptionally bad compared to the manga art.
Tales will probably suck, given comments from people who played the game.
All I look forward to in Planetarian is tank-kun. I do find it funny that this went to David Productions, of all studios.
