Well to be fair the engine girl is the only other 1 besides Mumei who is decent in that show lol.

I just rewatched it as well. It seems more like the two people who were stationed near the back of the train(Considering that most of the back were all quarantined already anyways) weren't necessarily in on the plan to draw it in really closely as that was more of a improvisation on Mumei's part. So essentially, going faster only happened so we can do some initial d reference.

Well, lots of folks on MAL aren't only in love with flashbacks but are basically addicted to them. It's insane how many people over there wish for flashbacks to introduce or flesh-out characters, backround stories etc... Even after ep1. "Oh, I'm sad we didn't get to know character xy enough. I hope we get a flashback of his past next episode." .... -.-' It's like they never experienced any decent work of fiction that had real character development and fleshed-out the characters over time. Because if they did, they surely wouldn't ask for flashbacks, wouldn't they?

ReZero: + Show Spoiler +Episode was great overall. Subaru was a little obnoxious in the first half, but that lap pillow (nice scene xD) calmed him down thankfully. Subaru seems to be capable of learning shadow magic, that stuff with Puck was interesting... but I wonder if it will ever happen. I wonder how the next episode in the village will go. A whole episode without a death and no cliffhanger, hehe.

ReZero ep8 was ok. Fanservice overload but the plot moved forward at least. MC had his most annoying phase yet.
Kino no Tabi ep9 was great. Very interesting topic packaged beautifully. + Show Spoiler +I liked how each character in the country was a mirror to what the author said about one's life. I also liked how they purposefully broke the fourth wall. Not like other shows do it. Yes, they showed that Kino no Tabi was a work of fiction and Kino+Hermes were thinking about that stuff but it also grabbed the whole notion of the episode - what is reality and what is fiction/fantasy - and intertwined it with break of the fourth wall by creating more fiction that contained fictional story about Kino that was read by Kino in said story. wow
