Mumei and soundtrack are the redeeming features Titan and not lacking plot? I realized while I was listening to the SnK soundtrack the only reason I remember anything about that show is the scenes attached to the music. I'm convinced no one would give a shit about that garbage if it wasn't for the amazing sound track usage.

Well, at least SnK started off kinda nicely and made me somewhat care about the characters. I don't like the characters in Kabaneri at all, but the anime has nice action if you can look over some things.

Kabaneri is one of those shows where I like the minor characters way more than the main characters.

Everytime i realize that i prefer a minor characer more than a main character i become convinced that it's only because the author hasn't been given enough chances to also ruin the minor characters.

I'm kinda baffled at their choice for the teacher. I realize Strike the blood did this as well but she was nowhere as petite or young (from my recollection). Just really odd to see a child lecture someone twice their size lol. Also, angels fall arc has to be one of the stupidest arc I've ever seen. Sisters arc was the best imo even though it has its own issues: + Show Spoiler +ya, he holds off against railgun on the bridge but is wasted. Then he decides to confront Accelerator right after and beats him. You can say it's also partially due to the fact that Accelerator was playing around until he got punched then he got serious but even then, timing overall was terrible. . Still deciding if I should bother with the second season. Anyone? Angel Fall arc probably has the most future repercussions/foreshadowing of most of the Arcs, even if it seems stupid. Second season is easily worse than the first season. Railgun is 5x better than Index, watch those instead. meh I still think it's quite terrible. I didn't really care much for the arc compared to the sisters one for example. Bit too late, already finished season 1 and started season 2. We'll see how season 2 of Index goes, might drop if it gets boring or annoying. Definitely checking out Railgun though having the first season 50% fillers is a bit off putting. On the other hand, since its 50% filler, that means there are only like 12 episodes worth watching in Railgun s1, instead of 24! The first half is canon, the second half is completely filler, IIRC.

Elem's going to murder everyone who's hating on Kuroko. Also, should have just watched Railgun without watching Index. It's the better show and you get spoilere'd by watching Index
Railgun also has the advantage of being able to see the flying witch MC when she was younger:
+ Show Spoiler [Saten] +
vs

i have said about 100 times, if you get into SnK from anime then ye, it is fair to say about alot of flaws with it etc, but if you read manga since the start of it like me (and seeing how the recent chapters go, i wouldn't say a bad word about it), the writer is very consistent in his writing/plot since the very beginning (thats like what, 2009?), the writer is selling SnK exactly the same thing since then. I have been chasing it since and I love it.

I dono man,
+ Show Spoiler + its moving places now but for like 2 years it was foreshadowing -->more foreshadowing ---> Oh SHIT moment --> no resolution to said O shit moment, change the subject ---> more foreshadowing ---> had enough foreshadowing yet ? No problem heres another O shit moment --->what about the last one ? Fuck that. worry about this one.. foreshadowing.
So there was a while were you were just pacing through it because of inertia and no real interest.

Holy shit, native non-cringy English in the latest Assassination Classroom. Probably the first time I see this. The VA speaks both Japanese and English it seems too. What a day.
Edit: Such effort on language put in such a short scene. That's very nice. Even down to foreigner VA speaking Japanese with an accent.

Nagisa and Karma sounded a bit weird, but the others were really good. That's probably because they only did that part, since they were side characters that (probably) will never appear again.

I have been chasing it since and I love it. I highly doubt that is the case. You just like the manga so less likely to be bothered by all it's faults. I've said it before, a story doesn't have to be the best to be enjoyable. You just can't act like it is the best while enjoying it. Which is largely where my irritation at stuff like SnK and Steins;gate comes from.
At the end of the day SnK sold itself on atmosphere to draw you in, completely abandoned that for the sake of poorly fleshed out and written politics/mystery while having incredibly jarring pacing. It's not the worst but it's not the best. Wasted potential is the phase that sticks out to me when thinking of SnK. That's like 90% of Manga/LN anyway. Authors good at building a interesting base but have no clue how to build from it. Maybe the industry needs some new editors or it's a case of editors wanting something completely different to what I want.

It was totally realistic though, Nagisa and Karma are junior high students, who will have heavy Japanese accents. It was really a nice effort from this show. It would have been totally fair to expect only the usual introduction Engrish and everybody then switching to Japanese :D.
It was a nice touch.

Very well put. I think the atmosphere and action carried SnK a lot. I think the mystery was good but the further she show goes the more dragged it got. If season 2 actually starts to give some answers to questions that were raised in the first few episode, I think I will enjoy s2 as well. Story and characters won't matter as much then if the rest carries enough. If they continue to drag it out though I can see me being annoyed.
Speaking of SnK: Kabaneri ep6 was ok overall. First half was pretty boring, second half was rather cool because of the action. So far I think Kabaneri is inferior to SnK. The action is the only thing that carries it because the animation is still insane for a series. Can't believe they kept it up. This is Wit Studio afterall, the studio that delivered the eye-cancer animation that was Owari no Seraph. Kabaneri doesn't have the atmosphere or mystery though. It's just the action so far.
For all who are wondering about the guy that throws in random english words: The VA is born in the US. I guess they want to integrate that or something, lol.

@ZenithM: Very true, didn't think about it.
Btw, with the preview of ReZero ep8 being up already, I have hopes that we don't need to wait 3 weeks because of tennis.
|
The biggest problem with SnK is that Isayama wanted to copy Muv-Luv Alternative, but he copied it without putting in actual robots (amongst other things). Having people spidermanning around while pretending to be robots, or having people control flesh-giant-robot-esque-Titans isn't enough.

There's no delay showing on CR either.
But... onee-sama loves tennis.

Lool, Big Order is so hilarious. It's quite terrible, but the show is so random that the terribleness is fun again.
