As for DtB OPs, I loved the first one, but I thought the second was meh. The one from season two is pretty good though.

+ Show Spoiler + suddenly the focus turns to family and ryuuji and taiga are getting married and then...wait none of that happened? should of been ami + ryuuji at the end, they kind of just left her hangin and she was the best character. i feel like a chick being pissed off at this stuff, but damn that was a shitty ending.

Yeah, ending left me a little WTF.... But I think I sorta get it. Basically Taiga decides that she doesn't want to run away from her family problems and decides to go and resolve them before attempting to do anything. Taiga understands that marrying Ryuuji would just be perpetuating her habit of running away from her issues and never resolving them, and so she decides to get away and fix those issues before returning. Or some shit like that.

I enjoyed both seasons (and songs) but seriously the writer needs to be dragged out of whatever hole he's hiding in and shot in the face because there's no real way to make sense of everything even after watching the series 3-4 times. I just saw the OVA and it didn't really explain much more, but I guess I was mollified by the gratuitous amount of Yin fanservice there was.

Then some things happen. Ryuuji return home and find the letter of his mother saying he should go to their granparents and stay there. Ryuuji understand in that moment that his mother is not unhappy because of him (sometimes i thought it would have been better if i were never born etc...) but because she choosed to run away. At this point he decide he shouldn't run like his mother did but instead face his life and share his happiness with everyone. For this reason he lure his mother to her parents, reunite the family and explain his intentions to Taiga (we will do this with the approval of everyone etc...). At this point they return home as a family, but as Taiga return home, she understand that she has been running too (because of her new brother and all) and that she need to fix her life before getting into something as serious as marriage. For this reason she go back to her mother and fix her problems before coming back for the end of the school (18 years old and technically free) 1 year after she left Ryuuji. It's not the classic "happy end" where love win on everything, here it's clearly showed how such a behavior is just an illusion in real life (see the life of Yasuko). Still it's an happy end because in the end they get together and for real this time. Ami was never really in love with Ryuuji and the moment she fell in love she was already conscious that Taiga and Minorin loved him too (see the discussion on the game of house) and she didn't want to ruin the relationship between her first "real" friends (see the discussion after Ryuuji throw her shoe, she want to "fix" because she like Taiga and Minorin). The feeling of gratitude toward him (for what he told her and the way he helped her attitude issues) was actually greater than her love for him, and you can see this over all the episodes. Minorin liked him as a reflex of Taiga's love (he's mr. nice guy to my best friend-> insta attraction), whereas Taiga and Ryuuji liked each other as soon as episode 2 (i can't leave you alone for some reason-> LOL find a better excuse , he called me taiga *blush*->just LOL ). Also, the OST is awesome ![]()

Totally not willing to be as picky about things as you are.

That was super refreshing in Steins;Gates' case :o Edit: Has nothing to do with re-used and more to do with it being stupid. I don't like sitting around watching a stereotypical tsundere tsundere with a stereotypical energetic loli while being scolded by a stereotypical big-busted glasses shy girl in a stereotypical school while attempting to build melodramatic undertones COUGH SMG COUGH. I hate school settings. They lead to the same goddamn scenes over and over again across stories. Remember my sarcastic "these productions only spike in quality during hot springs scenes?" Why is there a hot spring scene in the first two freaking hours of reading this VN? As, IIRC, there was in Tapestry? Because the writers have nothing else to come up with, after rampaging some random intrusive newspaper club (how original!) and trying to act like it's unique and amusing @*)#$U@#$RAGE. :| Bad jokes are bad, kind of makes you appreciate writers like that one that did Oretsuba... story wasn't that amazing but the little conversations and the characters were fleshed out incredibly well from the start... and to be honest, I feel like a huge part of that is because 3/4 the cast were older than 15 (or more like, 3/4 were older than like 20, hahah).

I'm looking for stuff that a) focusses on the emptiness and loneliness and vastness of space b) salvaging or just life in space c) a solitary life (doesn't have to be in space; could be about living alone on a mountain or wtvr) d) ISN'T action-packed and doesn't revolve around mecha and fights and conflict e) is adult / no fan service So far I am getting or have already got/seen.. Space Cowboy Outlaw Star Firefly The movie Life Pod Planetes Toward the Terra Moonlight Mile Moon (that recent film) Star Treks and Stargates ...I have a hazy memory of reading about an anime that starts off with a man mining on an asteroid or space station...I think he discovers something and it changes his life...? Maybe I'm remembering the start of Solaris or something...

NO10 - apparently ran on NHK 10 years ago YAT!Comfortable Space Journey - ran on NHK ~15 years ago (YAT! Anshin Uchuu Ryokou) Captain Future - ran in the 80s on NHK (see a trend?) Stratos 4 Voices of the Stars - movie, same person as 5cm per second and such Ginga Hyouryuu Bifam - ran on JNN 83-84 Spaceship Sagittarius Mousou Kagaku Series Wandaba Style (Imaginary Science Series - Wandaba style) Mujin Wakusei Survive (Uninhabited Planet Survival) 11nin iru! (there're 11 people!) Futatsu no Spica (the two Spica) Rocketgirl Royal Space Army - Wing of Honneamis (movie I think, but this one's more about launching - I loved it though) maybe Stellvia of the Universe, but that one's got a lot more juvenile stuff (school, slice of life, etc.) on top of the philosophical stuff (why people want to be in space, everyone's talents, the border of space, etc.) so it's probably not what you're looking for. Hagio Moto's stuff (if any has been animated) I bolded the two that probably fit into your requests most; you can check out the rest... if they even have subs >_<

Watching the OVA, looks fine. How did it go from this to Gun-tits girls? Sigh... Does the story conclude at end of season 2 or is there hope in s3?
