Its not that you can do more, its that you can do it cheaper. Afterall, the coolest and most hype scene in all of the first season was done with key animation.

Yeah that's what i meant, it's cheaper so they can do more with the same time, talent and budget. With infinite time, talent and budget you could've done the exact same things with more a more 'traditional' approach.
But, yeah i agree, if we're thinking of the same fight then that was definitely the best.
+ Show Spoiler +Leon vs Alfonso i take it? I really liked it, the build-up was great and the choreography and animation were both top-notch. The fact that you were left somewhat in the dark as to leon's true motivation also made it great when it was airing.

The CG for the lost soul beast was pretty great though, that looked really great.
Watch-dog returns with the same VA. Nice.
Also nice to know a bit more about the characters of the series, still a ton we don't know though, but it's still better than nothing. Also lol at Seimei's almost motherly role.
Kind of hope we get a better fight next week though, this week's horror fight was kind of anti-climactic.

Hmk, the thing about the live-action makes sense. I don't really think budget restraints are a problem here because it's part of a huge franchise anniversery. I could be wrong though.
+ Show Spoiler [Ushio to Tora ep16] +Holy shit, Ushio went full youkai mode. I'm so eager to see what happens next. I guess he was finally able to connect with the spear due to him pouring his last bit of soul into the spear when he was trying to save green weasel. It's probably too much for him at first and I'm interested to see how they will work something out.

I agree with what you say, though ... + Show Spoiler +if he turns into a youkai, which it looks like, how will he turn back? Perhaps the transformation won't be 100%. But he certainly needed a push regarding his powerlevel, which will probably happen with this. He only barely made it this far with the help of Tora, and it looks like the youkai which his mother protects with a barrier (if I remember it correctly) is waaay stronger.

I started watching Shokugeki no Souma yesterday and am about to start episode 6. This show is hilarious! It's so stupid it's genius. Better than anything offered this season it seems.

I think his beast spear form is part human part youkai. Now after what happened inside that idiot blond guy I assume the distribution of human/youkai shifted too far towards youkai or something.
And yeah, the Mononoke uber boss seems to be insanely strong. "The evil of this world", lel. That thing wants to kill everything. Right now he is far off in terms of power level, he definitely has a long way to go.
I'm questioning how they will justify the fact that his mother put the safety barrier around him...
AotY so far for me is Death Parade but seeing how strong this season is for me it will most probably be replaced.

Edit : For me, it'd be probably Death Parade too, or Gakkou Gurashi (those are the two shows that left me with a good impression).
I haven't been able to follow this season properly... due to me being sucked into Bakemonotagari.

Yep, that was the part. I wasn't expecting such a good fight, and with such good animation. That part was probably the crowning acheivement of the anime in terms of animation and plot. Other than I guess Mecha Garo vs a Bear, that part was great too.

Someone recommend me some trashy anime for me to watch this season. Not counting OPM, Gundam, Garo, Heavy Object, or Comet Lucifer. You don't even have to recommend something you think I'd like. Bonus points to you if I do end up liking it though.
