I do agree JWWW was extremely fun to watch, but pretty much all episodes were.
I thought some had a lot more gloriousness to them than others.
Yes of course, I personally especially liked those were the devil principal was toying around.

Nope, haven't watched the original Gundam!
I'm one of those 2000s kid -_-
There isn't any rule against "2000s kids" watching earlier anime. I bet outside just a few people here, most of people in this thread started getting into anime in the 2000s.
Yea. I only started in like 2002/3. Haven't watched the original gundam either but I did Unicorn which obviously meant I didn't get all the enjoyment out of Unicorn. I'll just have to watch both one day. Maybe after my LoGH watch.
Just out of curiosity do people prefer Yang over Reinhard?
Objectively, as for writing-quality, no. Subjectively yes because I love his idealism, rants and chilled attitude.
Thats like the opposite of how I see it, lol. Objectively, I think Yang is possibly one of the best written and most 'human' characters I've encountered in anime. He has his ideals and his genius, but it all feels believable and natural. Reinhard on the other hand is like an amalgamation of everything an ideal conqueror/ruler should be. I myself have been on the Reinhard side of the fence ever since I watched, but I think both are great characters. Reinhard/Yang/+ Show Spoiler +
Bittenfield
best characters.

I started watching anime before some of you were born. Although it wasn't until college that I was watching more subbed anime than anything else. Ceres, NGE, LAIN, Those Who Hunt Elves, Dominion Tank Police, Project A-Ko, Excel Saga, Venus Wars, Bubblegum Crisis, Akira, Cutey Honey, Armitage... wait, that's a bit wandering across some time.
Ranma 1/2, because of course.
There's a difference in the quality of animation though, in the old shows. Different era, different technology, and my old VHS tapes don't look quite the same on an HDTV.
Out of curiosity, how old? We have a pretty exclusive club of old-as-fuck guys here that right now is just me, Ragz, and tonight (and I think I'm forgetting someone).

Yeah your making me feel young. Thanks.
Although since Starblazers showed up on TV where I grew up in the early 90's thats basically my childhood too.
On September 30 2015 07:50 Sentenal wrote: Damn, that makes you the oldest of the club, and by a decent margin. I'm 29, Ragz and tonight are 30, I think.
26 over here. Ragz always talks like a super old man, so he and all the guys who have kids are the oldest by default. No matter the numbers.
As it turns out, noone in here has kids yet. Guess I mixed that up
lets just say i am slightly tiny bit younger than Sent and older than Toad. I think i said that i read JoJo3 when they were out weekly, and i also read Ushio and Tora at least 3 times.
I feel so old man. I still chase the manga of Guyver ffs

I was wondering where do you get that refined taste of enjoying Ranma 1/2 now it makes sense haha.

Yeah its so annoying. Guyver was one of the first VHS tapes I bought. I used to record Robotech from with the VCR making your own tapes was such a huge deal.

That was pretty good. Makoto grew so much. Seeing her despair was the best scenes. It gave me the feels.
I'd rate it 9 or 8
I wish more anime would play around with "time travel" in a romance school life setting.
But instead we get more season 2s of animes like Saekano.
Nah, we need more romance shows where we actually get to see the couple date and be in a relationship. Not end the show right when the relationship starts.
Like Ore Monogatari, or Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, or Chunibyo?
Please, chuunibyou might as well not have them be dating when they after 2 seasons still aren't beyond + Show Spoiler +
holding their fucking pinkies together.
Holy shit was chuunibyou's second season a waste. And season 1 felt almost just as pointless after the final episode.
holding hands is actually no issue on chunnibyou at one point at all but them expressing romanctic feelings or whatever makes them squick like a little girl
On September 29 2015 17:24 goody153 wrote: you should watch Chunnibyou IceHism it has the most adorable shit ever
Its on like a deep part of my backlog. It would have been higher if Shinka was the main heroine instead of Rikka. >_< Also, kyoani always draws pretty stuff but their shows are often so mundane. I think I'll watch hyouka first or something.
Well I'll see how that goes. Maybe I'll just blaze through it since I have 5 days before new season starts
Yeah i wish Rikka removed the eyepatch goddamn it she did remove it for awhile but that was it.
but if Nibutani was the main girl it would just be a standard~ish romcom

Lol I remember catching a few episodes of stuff like Tank Police/Bubblegum Crisis/Gall Foece movies on Sci Fi when I was a kid. I think I saw the Venus War movie too, poster looks familiar.
i would love to see an anime, have both (trying together and then dating+w/e problems that come up in that) most of the romance animes ive seen just do one half (with the dating bit having them get together super quick like 1st and 2nd eps)
i really liked Sukitte Ii na yo, cause they had a ton of dating bits the animation i thought was okay (i really like the chunni animation and tonari, toradora styles)

StarBlazers is one of those classics that keeps coming back from time to time.
