Yeah, worst anime weekend since a while.  Gate was meh, no Souma and not even a double episode of World Trigger when we expected one.  I also didn't enjoy the ending of Rokka that much + Show Spoiler [Rokka] +especially after they introduced another seventh just for the lulz

At least Rokka wasn't as shameless as NGNL for the ending. Don't think I've seen an anime shout that loudly that it's purely to sell the LN.

Yea don't hold your breath if you want a S2 of NGNL lol. Probably not for Rokka either since apparently it sells god awful. Was kind of amusing to see comments on Crunchyroll saying "I think this end means there has to be a S2!"

I did. Wouldn't go as far as to say it's my favorite part about the show but I really liked that in particular. Same for Saekano + Show Spoiler [pic] + and Oreshura (now looking back on it).
But it was a bit odd ep1. Nowadays if I see stuff like that I'm just instantly sold on the show for that alone, which is one of the reasons I was so hyped for Saekano. iirc that series had the same director (or whoever makes that decision) as OreShura which did the same but with more pale colors?
As for Shiro, I'd agree on that. Easily the weakest link in NGNL anime. Only one more annoying is that stupid (literally) mermaid.

I can't believe anyone that watches a lot of anime could say that. Well, okay, I believe it, but the unbridled optimism is strange.It's not like there aren't many examples of anime ending without any resolution, on a cliffhanger, and then never continuing.

On the other side of things, apparently Overlord sells phenomenal. Good for Madhouse I guess. I wish there would be a second season of Overlord in the future. Now that we are past the slow first 1-2 volumes (?) the show got quite good, aside from some weird pacing from time to time.

Well, there is some light at the end of the tunnel. NGNL has been dropping in rankings over the last year. In the beginning of the year it was like #40 or so. Good thing that masterpieces like Shigatsu are still being created to move shows like NGNL on their deserved ranks.

Meh no reason to be depressive. All mainstream media is typically more about getting money than telling the story in the best possible way they can. It's just the way life is. Every now and then some awesome piece comes through which is enough for me. I can still enjoy the trash that comes along even if they are just adverts. The best novels tend to come from those that have day jobs and don't have to try pander to keep a living. Visual medium is a bit too expensive for that lol.
