+ Show Spoiler [Chaos Dragon 1] +Pretty awful for a first ep. I realize they need a setup so that the party can come together, but my god that was cliche. The way the ending slide was shown makes the show look edgy as fuck. And I don't mean that in a good way.
Art was fine. Animation was noticeably lazy in the action scenes.
I feel like this entire anime is conceptually flawed. I'd much rather just watch the actual play session. The anime lacks context. The story in D&D campaigns generally isn't that great. It's the actions of the characters, the ingenuity/creativity of the players, and the associated banter (both in and out of character) that makes it all worthwhile.
For instance, I rolled my eyes at the whole "murder your loved one" bit in the anime. It's played up to be dramatic, but it's really hard to care about a character that I haven't even known for a whole twenty minutes. Presented in the context of a D&D campaign, it's less drama and more of a gotcha from the DM. I'm far more interested in the players' reactions to the event than the event itself.
Hell, the only reason I watched this in the first place was because of who the characters are.

It's an ova from the previous aquarion series evol (making Logos "s3" though it doesn't seem like they're in the same timeline as of now) that's bundled with the BD I think. I wouldn't judge the whole series by it that much since it was some nonsensical plotline just to set up the season 1 and season 2 mechs to fight (plus other garbage like the frog mech).
But yeah it's not really a series I'd recommend to most people. Just fun to watch for the cheesy love-powered robots (actually some decent fights though) and shipping wars.

I want to make a webm of the to see if Neo gets any feels but I don't really know what software to use for the video capture. Anyone have a clue?
edit: Found some stuff to cut the vid but the subtitltes don't show up :<. Trying to use KMPlayer now. I could just use screen capture but then I have to encode shit to reduce file size. No thanks. I just want Neo to cry dammit.

I wrote a blog on what software I use to make an animated gif so you can see if that helps. Other posters also mentioned software that can be used in it which might be even easier than what I recommended lol.

Watched the final 7 episodes of Hanasaku Iroha today. Damn. Thanks for the recommendation Numy! 
+ Show Spoiler +The final few episodes hit me like a truck. I mean it was kind of a happy ending but then it was not.
I still feel like they could have spent a bit more time on the romance but that's just personal preference. It wasn't really satisfying for me in the end. The rest however was great and I really liked it a lot. Everyone fested it up in the end! I liked how they handled the Tohru x Minko story.
Now only I am left to finally fest it up. =(
//I guess I'm going to start Shinreigari: Ghost Hunt now. I'm in the mood for another detective series.

oh, no, gifs don't keep audio, only video. You can easily edit the video and get that particular scene if you use avidemux!

BigFan I feel like you aren't reading here. I tried avidemux but the subtitles don't show up.
@Miragee - Glad you enjoyed it. One of the underwatched SoL type shows out there.
edit: Think I figured out what I'm going to do. Going to convert it to hardsubs which should allow avidemux to work.

The OVA didn't appear out of no where. It was announced and even had a PV and stuff. Its just odd that the shitty subber decided to call it Logos for no reason at all.
And like I said, I'm sure Logos will be terrible, but you shouldn't draw any conclusions about it based on a fanservice crossover between two previous series who are unrelates to Logos in everything but name (ever a different director/staff than the first two).

I guess so. My only complaint is that the subbers released it as the real episode was in RAW for two days. I didn't read the title properly
Going to check some more anime today if I have time. So far, only Gate + Rokka look good (for me)
