Finally finished Psycho Pass S1 and watched the first two S2 episodes. + Show Spoiler + It really isn't the same without Kogami, though. But I'm sure he'll be back (or was he even the "villain" at the end of the last episode? Couldn't tell).

The way that series gets the viewer to feel the whole gamut of emotions is what makes it so incredible to me. One second you're laughing incredibly happy, the next you can't stop crying, and everything in between. Im watching FMA not brotherhood :-) Dem feels tho T.T

+ Show Spoiler + In the original you spent 2 episodes watching them grow a relationship with this little girl and her alchemist father, only to find out he was a sick fuck. In Brotherhood within the space of 10 minutes he's introduced, super-fast mother backstory, turns daughter into chimera, both then murdered. It really didn't have the same "effect". What makes Brotherhood so much better? I could switch since im only a little into it :-)

Original is anime original after a point. The original had a really strong start, a stronger start than brotherhood i'd argue. But the second the original began doing its own thing it started getting pretty sub-par compared to brotherhood. http://www.animefillerlist.com/shows/fullmetal-alchemist vs http://www.animefillerlist.com/shows/fullmetal-alchemist-brotherhood to get an idea.

The first anime's ending is a bit WTF to most people along with the movie following it but personally I found it very enjoyable still. Brotherhood felt painfully generic and too obvious at times in what would happen because of the way they set things up. You pretty much knew where things were going all along, which definitively isn't the case with the first anime which keeps on suprising you. The core story still has some nice points though with some really nice characters and concepts but that's because it's based on an amazing manga. The OST is very good though. If I wasn't biased because of nostalgic feelings linked to the original soundtrack, I'd say Brotherhood's is a significant upgrade.

So, would it be a good idea to watch the original up until the massive filler point and then watch brotherhood ( / both as seperate entities.) ? Since alot of people are saying FMA's start was better and really i agree after checking out brotherhoods example above.

Since alot of people are saying FMA's start was better and really i agree after checking out brotherhoods example above. FMA basically covers up to 10 eps of FMA;B. FMA only has the setting and a few of the initial characters then it does its own thing so it's not really "FMA". They are both pretty good. FMA flops around a bit in the middle then has a pretty cool ending segment. FMA;B felt more solid overall except for the start. Don't switch between the two. Just finish watching one then watch the other knowing that they are completely separate. Also ignore Elem.

Watch FMA then when you want watch FMA:B. There's differences even in what is the "same". They different stories that are set in the same world and contain similar characters.
