That underwater Miuna hugging scene was so dam cute my heart almost burst with moe.
She wasn't really faking so much as she was putting everything in order.

Just started watching Aldnoah.Zero. Seems pretty cool in a I'll-have-watched-it-tomorrow-kind of way (once I've got a few free hours, anyway). I've heard both good and bad things about it, so I'd like some opinions. Worth watching?

I enjoyed it overall, i'd say watch it and judge for yourself

It's decent. Didn't live up to that epic first ep though. Hime-sama has nice legs.

Decent watch, didn't regret watching it but wasn't anything spectacular, either.

Yeah, the first episode was stunning. The final seconds particularly so. Anyway, I think I'll give it a shot. There aren't enough episodes for it to matter if I don't love it

Finals seconds with that soundtrack was amazing. If they managed to capture that feeling throughout the season it may have been best anime of the last few years. Think AoT also failed horribly at capturing it's opening.

Just "marathoned" Chaika S1 today after picking it up here. Needed something "light-hearted". Enjoyable watch, cute at times allthough Chaika was a bit too naiv (aka 100%) for my likings. 7/10 That ending with Vivi though :'-( I think I will watch the second season as well.
I also recently finished K-ON! Enjoyed that as well for the silly humor, nice synergy between actions and reactions. Also some episodes had not a single laugh for me, that was weird. 7/10 Tried watching Ura-ON. Got to episode 2 before I dropped it. I don't even realise how I did it, even though the episodes are only 2 minutes each. Complete and utter garbage. 2/10. Thinking about watch K-ON!! soon.
On another note: I need recommendations for an upbeat, light-hearted show. I kinda need it right now.

Upbeat and lighthearted? Hmmm, if you like SOL anime try Servant x Service?
|
Yeah after some ppl said they're excited about Chaika S2, I also started it, but not completely finished yet. (10/12)
It's pretty decent. Not much more though. I think 7/10 would be my score as well.

One thing about Chaika (don't read this if you intend to watch it you faggot who can't stop himself from clicking spoilers). + Show Spoiler +I was a little surprised at how far they went with powering the fortress. AkG just says outright "yup torture murder rape pedo death horrible shit is the norm here etc w/e bad guys kill 'em". But Chaika was fairly light hearted until they busted out the fortress. You had that ominous feeling when all the girls were missing. Then ofc they've been treated in the most brutal way possible. Shock value.

It's pretty decent. Not much more though. I think 7/10 would be my score as well. I think the thing that's impressive is that it's a generic fantasy story that's actually fun to watch. Shows that you can take cliche concepts and make something pretty good out of it.

+ Show Spoiler +Shock value was almost zero. That scene was so random and short it didn't even reach my heart or mind, lol.

Not a particular fan of SoL but I don't mind them, either. I will try it, thanks!

Since it seemed like it was for shock value but seemed like it didn't belong at all. Maybe that was just to help set the tone for later in the series or smth. Nichijou! Baka to Test, both seasons! School Rumble, both seasons! Minami-ke 4 seasons! Hataraku Maou-sama, where the fuck is the second season?!?! So much light heartedness!!!!!

If you like Chaika you really should watch Scrapped Princes. Same author, kinda similar setting, much better quality.
