i thought some of the scenes were really effective, but its also pretty cheesy and it doesnt make too much sense :/. overall pretty disappointed. i didnt think steins gate needed any more after that ending anyway, and watching this movie only reaffirmed that thought. i guess watching okabe and kurisu kinda lovey dovey is pretty kawaii though

I didn't like it. They go over a lot of the same shit that was already covered in the series. The series already explored all the PTSD issues and such - seeing it crop up again didn't sit well with me. The scene where Okabe is hit by a car sticks out in particular. It's supposed to be shocking and all that, but considering they already did this with Mayuri before (many times!), it ends up feeling like lazy writing. It was kinda amusing how irrelevant Ferris and Ruka were again. I also don't know how the ending resolved anything. In fact, I don't know how going back to 2005 was supposed to help in the first place! The final sequence of scenes were really disjointed too. The tv series made pretty good logical sense within its established rules. I don't think I can say the same for this movie. It was nice seeing competent Suzuha again at least.

I know they're trying to be dramatic and emotional about it but I feel like they're going overboard with how many times they gotta do these flash backs. there is one exceptionally long flashback before the current match in the manga.

Yeah it was nice as fanservice, especially Kurisu service, and they threw some new scenes from the VN like + Show Spoiler + psycho Nae

If I include Ui I probably have to include nodoka, the teacher or whoever else as well for formality and that's just too much. + Show Spoiler + ![]() ^With toys not yet seen in the anime AFAIK. Its normal beam rifle turns into a Shotgun, and it has a shoulder mounted gatling gun, and leg mounted missile launcher. + Show Spoiler + ![]() ^It has the DX's Hyper Beam Sword, in addition to a normal beam saber. + Show Spoiler + ![]() ![]() ^Hyper Satelite Cannon Stand not included with kit, btw. Also, all the light blue parts are stickers.
