About Madoka, how much Urobuchi written things have you watched? If you watch more you'll see that it is a fairly common thing in terms of how he likes to develop things. Somewhat cheesy and obviously aiming to connect into more tv series in this case though.
Urobuchi's Fate Zero is incredibly good not to mention that ufotable made a pretty damn good production quality with their limited budget.

Urobutcher is really hit or miss. Think F/Z was good but a lot of his other stuff just isn't as good. I didn't like Psycho Pass at all for example.

Finally watched Monogatari 18-20. Really liking this arc. Love the job Kaiki's VA did.

No one knows for sure about his past relationship with her for the moment, though the way he acted here and in Hana does suggest that to be a possibility. Chances are Nishio will just leave this hanging though.

F/Z was a diamond. I actually experienced a pretty bad void after watching it since i cant find something as decent as F/Z and i agree everything he wrote isnt really that good. It must be just the case of F/Z and madoka. I havent seen Psycho Pass yet but i dont find it interesting.

pretty unfair to compare F/Z to Psycho pass (F/Z and PP fan here) since that team behind F/Z is really something else (saw their studio interview from NHK's imagine-nation long time ago), and i wont be surprised to hear that F/Z's budget has 3 more digit than PP's.

It's not a comparison. Just pointing out a work by Urobutcher I didn't like Burning Sera.
And it's not even that it's like Minority Report. I just didn't find it very engaging.
