This is old, but anytime people bring up nge + Show Spoiler +IDK, KLK is well within what I've been expecting I must say that I dont like comic strips like these. I know its supposed to be funny (the we order them in bulk line was funny for example) and Im okay with that if its somehow creative. But this one just shows that the creator didnt get the story or the problems of the main char at all. Also Asuka is NOT a redhead. It may look like it is but she is something we here in germany call "Erdbeerblond" (which would be like Strawberry blonde). Sorry I think I just cant be too critical about NGE since its my favourite Anime of all time and Im a bit biased towards it. Maybe cause it changed my life ( in a positive way) since I saw it with like 14-15 and always accompanied me until now since its so deep and mystical (yes Im one of those people). It showed me what (amongst other anime series/movies) Anime can be and that drawn characters or stories arent always childish or for kids in general.

I'm getting through Eva right now. I certainly don't think it's as bad as people say it is here, but I'm not sure if it's really worth the critical acclaim that it's received either. I'll have to finish it up before I give a final opinion, but yeah.
|
To me Eva was like they had a general idea of where the show was going, but hadn't fleshed out all the details yet. But then they ran out of time to flesh out the details so second halfish part of the show is kinda wtf? But I think that actually made it more interesting in way. I dunno.

Eva is a jumbled mess that has superficial mythology laid out over it to give the appearance of being "deep", It was solid in the first portion of the series then goes down hill at the end. The two movies didn't help either.
Is new series of animations they doing any good? Seems like they added a fair bit to the original story.

Speaking of Evangelion, I should try to get around to reading Devilman, sometime.
In regards to the Rebuild of Evangelion Movies, each movie is of different quality. The first movie is essentially a remake of the first part of the TV Series, only with really good visuals. The 2nd Movie starts diverging from the series, with the inclusion of new characters, new Evas, and things like that. I actually liked the second movie. Unfortunately, the 2nd Movie brings us to the 3rd Movie. By this point, it has completely diverged from the TV series. Completely. And it is terrible. I mean holy shit. Makes me wonder how the last movie will turn out after this pos movie.

Are you talking about the Christian references?
I thought everybody knew that it was just for flavor and wasn't intended to be anything more than that.

@ZNF Rewatched the series recently and the Rebuild Movies too since Evangelion 3.33 DVD/BR releases on 13th Dec 2013 here in Germany. Already preordered it on BR , getting it for Christmas. Im so pumped and hyped cant wait (I know some people already watched it but dont want to watch a crappy camrip and I hate Fansubs. I only watch Japanese with german subs or German Dub if its good.) . I think I wasnt so excited for a long time for Xmas that much. Kinda pity that UK/US fans still have to wait for March 2014 for the release.

I remember back in high school when people were hyping it because of that and also something about how the guy who wrote it was manic depressive at the time so its all crazy and symbolic/deep/whatever.
People overanalyzed the shit out of that show.

Its like that here because of people like me, but I can't be everywhere. </arrogance>

I've seen it on other sites I browse too, and a lot of my eva friends also know that Anno didn't really mean anything when he poured all the random Angel stuff into the show.

Oh....I got a similar story that meant something different.
It wasn't so much that he was depressed and so it was crazy/symbolic/deep as much as it was....the guy wrote this story and he was super depressed so there were a lot of troll moments.

This week's anime had been amazingggggggggg
KLK : + Show Spoiler +GOGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Too many
Arpeggio + Show Spoiler +Pew pew1!!! That said, Kongou, why you fail us I feel like they kept some of the speeches from Manga material. But the story, obviously, is very different
Valvrave + Show Spoiler +I just watched South Park (the latest episode) and this VVV episode back to back. I must say massacres are everywhere
|
+ Show Spoiler +The stupid martyr stuff they do in anime when they want to kill a character to make it seem realistic is dumb.
|
Eva is the best show ever. Anyone not fully agreeing with this is clearly a completely casual anime fan and should work on watching less shallow shows. It's a deep show for deep people such as myself. + Show Spoiler +Honestly I think it only receives hate because it's so popular and because its fanbase was so obnoxious sometimes. It's like the old Madoka.

Does anyone read Kabu no Isaki? + Show Spoiler +The final chapter got translated and ... man, wtf? I was expecting an ending like in YKK but then Ashinano throws this rather unsatisfying curveball. Did the manga get cancelled by the publisher ahead of time or something? Either way, good to see the whole thing get translated. I was really enjoying it up to this point.

+ Show Spoiler [Infinite Stratos 2] +Funny episode, pretty tame in comparison to previous episodes. Cecilia such a mastermind at getting everyone sick I guess it was good fan service for whoever likes Cecilia lol.
+ Show Spoiler [Strike the Blood] +Kanase seems like an interesting character when you consider her background. Wondering what the whole mask thing is about. Guess we'll find out soon enough. Wonder how many will end up liking Kojo in the end. The fighting is always entertaining to watch lol.

+ Show Spoiler [GitS Arise 2] +It was ok. A lot of the stuff I take issue with shows up again. The art changes I can deal with (though Aramaki in particular still looks odd), but the overall flashy/acrobatic style of the fights I still don't like.
The Major losing to Batou in a fight was kinda hilarious. Paz fighting Ishikawa was also funny, as Ishikawa has traditionally been pretty unremarkable in fights. It'll be interesting to see what they do with Togusa in the next movie, considering that he is one of the three members of Section 9 that the series likes to focus on.
The Logikomas finally got weapons in this movie, which was good. Now why didn't they do that in movie 1?
The story was pretty good. No real complaints on that front, though it was a bit too convenient how neatly all the issues were resolved. The downside of having separate movies, I guess.

I guess it has been like 1 chick per ~3 episode arc more or less, should be doable. (teacher route gogo :3)
