Was wondering if anyone could recommend me an anime that I should watch next. I just finished Samurai Deeper Kyo today and it was alright. Didn't really have much depth and the fight scenes were average. I'm not a huge anime buff (I really just started watching more anime)
Past series that I've watched are:
Death Note FMA:B Naruto / Shippuuden (still watching obviously :B) Code Geass Sword of a Stranger Princess Mononoke Summer Wars
I think I'm missing a few more but I can't remember. I really enjoyed Death Note and FMA:B. I tried giving Fairy Tail and Bleach a shot but couldn't get into them. Thanks to anyone that recommends anything!

Saying that you really enjoyed Death Note and FMA:B is not helpful at all, lol

It's basically AOTY (so far) imo. 14 episodes is not enough, next batch is in... May? I think.

Enjoy! This might sound a bit odd, but personally I thought that rather than sad, it was... "painful" to watch, I guess. Or that was the feeling I had while watching it.

Well, they tends to be liked by same people. Not that's necessarily a good thing.

Well I haven't seen anything else.. so by me telling you I enjoyed those two animes how does that not help?
FMA:B - Action, Adventure, Drama, Fantasy Death Note - Thriller, Supernatural, Pychological
Don't know how much easier it can get than that...

The thing is that 80% people like them. So, it doesn't really help except just rec really generic popular stuff. But you can just use MAL ranking for those.

It's because those two are pretty mainstream anime and you liking them gives almost zero indication what you might like within their respective genres.
Also, do what Kaal said. Look at the top recommendation chart. I don't understand how people can possibly miss that, and then come in and give a post with the most generic list of anime and expect people to be able to fire off names of anime.

You bet your ass I am. I fuckin' love Leiji anime/manga. Guy is a god damned genius. And this reboot is really well done, budgeting and everything is getting what it deserves for Yamato.

Hi, I just finished watching phantom requiem for the phantom and don't rly understand what exactly happend in the ending:
+ Show Spoiler + Don't rly understand who killed reji:
So they step out of the vehicle and face the field, elen walks into it, looks at sky etc. Reji walks away to the right alongside the road.
Next scene it's evening. Reji is facing away from the road looking into the field at the sunset and the mountains that converge in a like valley in the middle. I mean they become smaller from both sides towards the middle (sry not that good at english, or explaining stuff in general). A tree is to his right next to the road, a wagon comes from his left driving along side the right (other side) of the road.
Next we see elen, she is facing slightly to the left on the screen. In de background u can see it's lighter to the left and the mountains become smaller to the right. So the 'camera' is next to the road and at an angle between the road and the horizon reji was looking at. Basically looking to the left of reji. So elen was looking towards the sunset or some more to the left (from reji's perspective). So she is standing somewhere to reji's left looking in the same direction or at an angle away from him.
Next shot of elen is towards her face, as she crouches to pick that flowers petal, if the tree to her right is reji's tree this means she is indeed looking at an angle away from reji. The sunset background seems to confirm this aswell.
Next we see the wagon passing reji and him getting shot and elen caressing flower still the facing same way going by background.
Then elen stand up tand urns around (camera facing towards reji's left again from the road, and elen now is looking in the camera so towards the road and still away from reji). She smiles.
After the credits we see elen apparently dead or something from committing suicide by eating a flower petal (wtf?). And an empty cartridge lying like 2 meter's or so away from the road at the edge of the purple flower field also there the camera is not looking at the sun in the background so it's (edit: the cartridge, not the camera) lying on reji's and elen's side of the road. Also there is no tree. --- So like first thing when i saw the cart driving by and hearing the shot i thought obv the cart driver shot him. Then when elen smiled i thought mb she did it wich i found to be pretty funny and awesome. However as i pointed out she is facing the other way all the time and seems to be unarmed + is busy committing suicide by flower. However if the cart driver shot him then how could the empty cartridge end up so far from the road esp since he is driving on the right side, wich is the other side of where reji stood? (Btw if it where on the other side of the road after all and it was the driver shot reji then the tree kinda shuld apear in the background cuz it's farther away some more of the background is visible). Furthermore why did he not shoot elen whom he drived by earlier?
So im clearly making a mistake somewhere here cuz it doesn't seem like either one could shoot him?! So what happend exactly?
EDIT: Now that i think more about it mb elen was shot too (and did not die by flower), and that's where that cartridge comes from, and so the scenes happend at different times. Then the driver could have driven up to elen, stepped out of his cart, shoot elen, then step in again and then shoot reji while driving. And for some reason they showed elen's last moments together with reji's last moments wich happend after elen was already dead? But then i dont even understand what the flower was for as well... Or it elen shot reji and did commit suicide and they again showed scenes together that happend in different times. Cuz this time it was reji who died even before elen bent down to take that flower petal...

I mean...that's fine but I want to know why you liking both of them means that they're compatible recommendations. I like Texhnolyze and I like K-ON, but I would never recommend those two together just because of that.
