Hello I would like to comment on XenOmega asking about what a good zombie esk anime would be. I personally loved High School of the Dead and would highly recommend it to others.
I would also like to give Epishade a song that is played by the piano already and is also from an amazing anime i would also highly recommend others to watch. It's from the anime show called Angel Beats. It is the opening song called "My Soul, Your Beats!" sung by Lia.

I wanted to be able to show him some sheet music eventually once we got far enough.
So far, the current anime songs that I think sound good on the piano and I have are: Neon Genesis Evangelion intro (cruel angel's thesis) Every Heart from Inuyasha To Lovers End from Inuyasha Tori no uta from Air (intro) Hare Hare Yukai and Bouken Desho Desho from Meloncholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
I'd look through all suggestions and add them to the list for potential songs I'd show my teacher. So TL, what are your favorite anime songs?
My Beats, Your Soul - Lia - Angel Beats OP Akai Namida - Mami Kawada - Shakugan no Shana Movie Insert Brave Phoenix - Nana Mizuki - Nanoha A's Insert Bright Stream - Nana Mizuki Haruka na Hibi - Eufonius - Bungaku Shoujo ED A ton of Final Fantasy music

I don't know about the other ones, but the angel beats OP seems pretty hard to play (with the exception of the first 15ish seconds).

I like Brave Phoenix more than the average person but I really don't think a piano solo of it is that great. Bright Stream or Metro Baroque are better since Nana incorporated some pretty nice piano parts. Takaramono for something simpler but still pretty. Of course, can't go wrong with Shin'Ai.

Some of the steins gate music would be great for you I think: + Show Spoiler +
Kingdom Hearts isn't categorized as an anime song, which is what he was looking for in his question. However, I really love Dearly Beloved. I'm actually replaying Kingdom Hearts right now from the beginning, because I just got my PS2 controller mailed in today
The only anime songs I've listened to in piano are: 1. Sadness and Sorrow (Naruto) 2. Tsukiakari no Michishirube (Darker Than Black Season 2)

When I started learning piano, this was the first song I tried to play. It isn't that hard and it has a nice, light tone to it.
Actually, don't, it's fairly hard (grade 8~ or so?)
First video game musics i learned were the mario overworld + underworld + underwater pieces haha. I think this is the last one i played before i embarked on my chopin binge

I used to play that ff song on Piano. I would say it is grade 8, give or take 1. Coming from someone with grade 8 from rcm in piano lol.(10 and ARCT on guitar though,oh ya). It is surprisingly hard to make it sound good though, like it isn't that technical but the dynamics can be tricky. Otherwise it sounds stale.
Also, I like Angel of Darkness by nightcore. Not an anime song I think, but sounds anime.

Those Who Fight is pretty challenging but it is soooo fun to play!
@Sickkiee I like Kyle's Passion rendition far more than Dearly Beloved. Dearly Beloved has too many slow, repetitive parts, not that it's a bad song. Passion as a whole was just more enjoyable to both listen to and play.
Ever17's Karma is a pretty simple song but I really loved it. For some reason brought sheet music back to college and just sitting on my desk lol. oh what I have Platinum Disco here too. + Show Spoiler +
