...What?
What's a correct reason to like a show?
Edit: I'm a wraith!

Far more than anything else that was airing at the same time at least?

Well, people (at least the forum I was in) was watching it because so bad it was good. I'd assume that's not a correct reason.

That just means they're retarded. Not necessarily a right/wrong reason.

I like shows when they're so bad it's hilarious and laughable. There's nothing wrong with that.

That's actually was a really big season
Death Note, Kanon (KyoAni), Black Lagoon S2, D.Gray Man were the most hyped shows that season and all except DGM held up.
Jigoku Shoujo 2 and Otoboku got caught on really fast
That season also brought us the infamous Haro Cabbage
Though I liked two shows from that season not many liked... Kujibiki Unbalance and Pumpkin Scissors
Edit: NM, thought you meant 1st season... Actually that might explain it somewhat, it just got drawn out by other shows during first season
Looking at Spring 08... yeah that was really bad.

After watching all DGM I actually still hope that someone picks it up to finish it. Anime wise.

Started Steins ; gate, at episode 2.
So I'm not too sure, but yea... WTF? The guy seems to be indeed mad! Really curious how the show will evolve from there. + Show Spoiler +Episode 2 does end with the weird banana experiment

There would be literally no point. The manga has degenerated into a slow moving sob fest.

+ Show Spoiler [Binbougami 12] +Wow, Momiji was just overflowing with cuteness this episode, made me go hnnng one too many times.
I pretty much figured at the beginning that all she needed to do was get dirty again and she'd be back to normal, no surprise there.
And man, only 1 ep left. Im really gonna miss this show. Something about this anime that just makes me laugh like a retard and helps cheer me up instantly. ggnore.

Okay wait, just to make things clear, do people like or dislike Code Geass? I really liked it, more so than Death Note (it didn't take the same drop Death Note did). I'll admit that the series did have its low points (the Mao stuff for one), but it also had its great moments (the ending, the first few episodes of R2, Shirley's dad dying, etc). I think it turned out overall pretty good, and from what I hear it usually gets a lot of positive comments. Is it just the more veteran anime watchers who have seen way more stuff who dislike, or is there something that even casual watchers find bad about it?

I watched both it and Death Note when I was pretty new to anime (DN more so), and back then they were literally "the best thing ever", although both had a decline on the later halves of the shows (R2 for CG, and for DN you know what I mean).
They were "omg plot twists and genious main chars!!! Awesome!!!" when I first watched them, but after being exposed to a lot more anime (and TLADT, I can't say it hasn't affected my taste in anime), they aren't that great anymore. I still find them entertaining, I have to admit that, but they aren't... well, R2 is quite an enjoyable trainwreck, I'll put it that way (not to say that R1 was perfect though).

Most vets here dont like it. I think it was fine when it aired for the most part. Generally its pretty well liked..
If you want to revisit the shitstorms, flame and ban baiting feel free to use the search function.
People love to "debate" about it and then complain that it gets talked about to much or something to that effect.
