I'm not really talking about "excessive" as in "over powered", I'm talking "excessive" as in "why would you need 7 different swords when you can only use two of them at a time" excessive.
Like take the Kshatriya for example. It has 6 arms, so 6 beam sabers isn't excessive (which it comes equipped with).
Didn't Justice had like a ton of swords for no reason also? And had a surf board that dubs as a sword to top it off.
2 beam sabers, a beam rifle, 2 beam boomerangs, and a remote controlled backpack mounted with guns. So really it just had 2 swords.
The Infinite Justice had more, with a beam saber in each leg (allowing it to kick with beam sabers), and its backpack also had a beam saber to cut things when it flew around. So even here, its not really excessive in terms of ability to use them.

Um, yes they did disassemble for omnislash. Won't disagree about it being silly or illogical (and if anything, SAO has taught us how silly animated game logic can be lol) cause movie was like pure fan service, but he did use all the swords separately.

Oh they did? Haha I forgot..watched it too long ago. But makes good use of all those swords haha.
So Im watching Darker than black. Its pretty good so far but I got a question. Will most of the questions be answered in the 1st season? I heard the 2nd season was pretty bad and would like to avoid it.

Clearly its tracks are designed to make it all-space-terrain. Whether it's dark matter sand, dark matter snow, dark matter sleet, or dark matter poop, the Guntank fears nothing.

No.
Well fuck....Do I have to watch second season?
Second season iirc, puts more questions on top of not answering the first season's questions. A few get answered, but you're still left saying "what the fuck?"
The OVA's in between "sort of" answers, but really only answers how season 2 started.

I think unless you read the LN's the anime doesn't cover the answers.
Then again I'm pulling shit out my ass since I've only seen the anime LOL.

2nd season + OVA:s were fine but nothing close to the first season, so you don't lose that much from skipping it (except a loli sniper voiced by hanakana, so do as you wish).
