well i love silly love comedy like baka to test or seto no hanayome, so "pure crap" is what comes out of my ass, and your mouth in this case, don't like it? don't watch, but don't hate for no reason at all.
edit: to put it clearly and more polite maybe:
you do not watch lord of the rings and go "well fuck i hate fantasy, this was pure crap" afterwards, at least you should not, because you knew fully well what to expect, and i believe baka to test takes at most 2 minutes into the first episode to make PERFECTLY clear what kind of show it is.

I do watch silly comedies every now and then and it's not like I expect them to be incredibly deep or anything. Even when they are full of the usual tropes they usually manage to do something unexpected and get a laugh every now and then, but with Bakatest there was nothing. It was just the same overused gags that you see in every other slapstick comedy over and over again, and without particularly good execution.
It is true that I probably should have stopped watching earlier, but I didn't expect to find it that bad. Especially considering that it has gotten much more praise than many other silly comedies that did entertain me.

hoshizora e kakaru hashi + Show Spoiler +Meh, really just the same old harem stuff. Main character meets each of the girls and then each of the main girls gets an episode dedicated to them. In the end it all leads up to the ending where the main character chooses one of the girls and the rest accepts it and they all live happily ever after. Which leads me to why he choose + Show Spoiler + THE GOD DAMN AIRHEAD! Sure I may be nitpicking but seriously why UI of all the people. Any of the other girls would have been fine, heck even Koyori and hinata would have been okay with me. Why UI T_T. that girl as opposed to the others. I guess if i read the VN then maybe my thoughts would be different but Whatever.
I really need to stop getting distracted and study.

Is it just funny or..? Cause I know its just an episodic anime but ya. T_T Definitely worth it. A few weeks ago I watched the first few episodes and didnt think too much of it. Then today i started watching again and its actually hilarious. I think its primarily comedy yeah, not sure if they ever really get to an overarching plot, which it does have the setup for I might add. After the first 8 eps or so youll know if its something you like
They have some serious plots (usually span through 3-5 eps) really shounen stuff.

BakaTest is different style from Lucky Star / A Channel style silly comedy. Most similar I think are Ben-to and Ladies vs Butlers and to some degree Hayate.

SAO smart enough to avoid obvious spoiler, not smart enough to avoid 'foreshadow' aka spoiler. Well, maybe it won't feel as stupid to people who only watched anime.

Well, I just watched the latest episode and I can't think of anything (yet). I haven't read the LN. We will see if it feels stupid later on. Still feels like harem sidestories online though, but I'm waiting for the main arc to begin, lol.
Still, if you reflect on what Kirito actually does it's pretty funny. He basically refuses to group and is soloing in a place he outlevels by a lot. Hardly impressive, but hey all the girls love him because fuck logic right? Well, maybe he does something worth praising later on. Maybe I'm too harsh.

So next episode the actual plot starts. Probably. Took them long enough.

Really? I thought this episode was fine. I mean, it felt a tad bit slow, but that's it.

Considering he wanted stripping Inaban you can see why he thought it was slow, episode was fine, cant have shit happening non stop, pacing is fine to. Still best show after Jinsui so far this season.

Cept Seto no Hanayome gags are much much better executed than Baka Test, its hard to find it funny if they dont surprise you or catch you off guard. Even though silly comedy gags are done to death it doesnt mean you cant still be surprised.. Baka Test does just okish in that regard. Second season was a struggle for me personally.

Yeah, I was talking about anime. I assume someone who just started with anime is not going to jump into VN yet, that's kind of a big leap.

I guess, but if he wants to know what happens after F/Z, reading the VN would be the next step. But if he just wants more ufotable/Type-Moon stuff, that isn't necessarily related plot-wise to F/Z, KnK does fit the bill there.

The thing is... they could really make a good Fate route anime, but they had to throw in all the random stuff from other routes there and make it into a abomination.
