I wouldn't exactly blame it on execution, the entire SAO world (at least the first world/story) seems like small short stories that are somewhat sparsely linked together by the nerve gear system and Kirito. And trauma + Show Spoiler + about his parents or the PK'ers he killed? + Show Spoiler [lolending] + Can't what to see the general opinion about the ending, hoping they end up continuing past phantom bullet/mother's rosario arcs which I feel are much better stories than the main storyline. | ||

Also, GGO was shit and Mother's Rosario would've only been interesting if it wasn't vol 7 and Asuna actually had meaningful development before then. It is pretty hard to give a damn about her that late into the series though. Unless you mean that you want to see vol 9+ animated, since SAO/Aincrad and Alicization are definitely the better points of the whole series. SAO was written in a pretty fucked up way. It is a bunch of small short stories because they actually are just small short stories outside of main arc. Trauma was touched upon but SAO focused on Sachi for that, there is this other trauma that led to his behavior in episode 1 but We don' t see it explained until almost the end of Alicization. As for his family, + Show Spoiler [SAO vol3+] + it was touched on in ALO but hardly a factor, even Sachi has a bigger role in ALO as a trauma than his family because there is actually no trauma involved there. Only awkward imouto-itoko unrequited love. As for the PKer/laughing coffin members, the whole thing in GGO wasn't so much a trauma about them as it was about Kirito's own mentality and treatment of his time and actions in SAO. That he actually ended up killing some of them was just extras. For one, you don't see him having any remorse killing that guy who tried to kill him in vol 1 ever. Why I call it execution was that they went with a horrible pacing and don't do anything for transition. Basically just laziness and doing things on a set schedule without even trying to make LN content into something that makes sense for anime. They definitely had a lot more that they can do w/ SAO arc than what they are doing right now. Frankly, I think they are just retarded for + Show Spoiler + wanting to go all the way through ALO | ||

+ Show Spoiler + The character routes weren't very good, but Refrain delivered. Don't know why I'm not a huge fan of the happy end epilogue when I was fine with the epilogue of MLA though, lmfao. Also needed a bit more solid Rin romance imo ): What VN to go for now? Any recommendations? | ||
