I feel like there wasn't enough emphasis on the entire music festival thing. The episode boiled down to just Konatsu being a fangirl and Sawa scolding her a little bit. I would have enjoyed it much more if the two had at least some tension between them for a longer period of time; the way it was felt rushed.

And we're finally getting a little more information about why everybody's obsessed with Wakana, although it still didn't reveal much that we didn't already know. Hopefully, there will be a little more than just a 5 minute "self-reflection" period for Wakana in the coming episodes.

Overall, there doesn't seem to be a very strong theme at all, which is a shame. The preview looked interesting, though.

I missed the discussion earlier and can't be bothered to go back to find it, but I find it interesting that they created an episode out of what seemed to be a simple recollection by Kirito in the LN. It was obviously a defining moment for him as a character, but I'm not sure how the rest of it will go. It seems they're adding in each side story chronologically (at least, so far as I can tell; I've only read through Vol 1 and the Black Swordsman part of Vol 2, which is the next episode), although he's level 78 or something by then (I can't exactly remember where he left off at the end of this episode, but oh well).

EDIT: JK, I guess I'll need to finish Vol 2.

WHOO! We actually learn something about Liberta's powers and backstory! The focus is still too much on the daily lives of the characters (Felicita, Liberta, and Nova, specifically) and not enough on the actual duel, for me; I haven't touched the VN, though, so I guess I can't judge it on that point. I can say that this is probably the show I most dislike out of the ones I'm watching this season (possibly tied with Campione).

Madoka has too much POWAAAAAAAH. Asteria being in this episode makes it good.

Opening the Rinne seems like it's a big deal. It seems it's only further solidified each of the opposing sides' stances on the issue of blowing up the other planet. I hope the negotiations are more than just "Blah blah vague details blah blah I don't like you blah" followed by "Blah blah you're wrong blah," since negotiations tend to be boring in most shows I've seen >.< Doesn't seem like there will be too much action.

Eca, I had to leave before I finished this section, but the dude who decided to turn Asuna into a Dutchwife wants to use ALO to take over the bodies of all the players? Or brainwash them? Or something like that? What the fuck am I reading?

Wow, this anime is really picking up now, I was totally caught off guard with how much content they revealed this episode. Im actually starting to care for each and every character, Im pretty much at the point of caring enough to remember each of their names now (which is pretty rare). Off the top of my head I can name: Iori, Taichi, Inaba, and Yui (I dont quite remember the blonde dude's name).

And this part, oh god this part:

Yeah, the characters are becoming more interesting. It's definitely not just a comedy, which is what I feared it was upon first hearing the premise. With Taichi being revealed as the "selfless, help-everybody" kind of person, I'm wondering what conflict - if any - could be revealed about him (or what characteristic about him) requires assistance from the others (at least, I'm guessing that's one of the themes - each character has problem(s) that can best be addressed through the body-switching experience).
