Arent servants supposed to be sorta filled in so they dont experience era related issues, I mean his sense of dressing is still retarded. Yea it probably is just a personality thing.
They understand how it works but they don't necessarily know of it beforehand. Also Alexander's personality kicks in, where he goes to lengths to show respect to people by being in awe of their "stuff." It makes people feel good.

Yeah, as Uta said, servants can be potentially summoned in multiple classes, depending on their abilities. Like take Berserker in FSN for example. They explicitly said that he could have been summoned as any class other than Caster or Assassin, IIRC. And given who Gilgamesh is, with the Gates of Babylon, he could have been summoned as Rider too. Or Saber, or Lancer, etc.
All that said, the Class they are summoned in greatly determines how strong their abilities are manifested. Rider being summoned as a Rider makes his riding abilities greater than Gilgamesh's by alot, since he was summoned as Archer. Only Saber's riding abilties are able to stand a chance, since the class of Saber also gets high Riding stats. Gordius Wheel (Rider's Chariot) is an A+ ranked Noble Phantasm anyway.
@Uta: I think Arthria is only able to be of Saber class. They said something like that in FSN, I think.
I guess we havent seen enough of Gordius wheel to really tell how powerful it is yet. But from what is shown it just looks like Gilgamesh outclasses him in that department.
Gilgamesh's ship doesn't really have any offensive power. Gilgamesh was fighting with Berserker by flying on the ship, but shooting weapons at him with Gates of Babylon. So the ship itself isn't better than Gordius Wheel at all, in that respect. All it does is fly real fast.

so JC Staff is doing Little Busters instead of Kyoto Animations, which surprises me because I thought KyoAni would not let go a chance like LB. Might be interesting to see another studio do some Key works, though I am not sure if JC will be able to pull of the same quality.
JC is not that bad. I just hope they will be able to get rie kugimiya once again. ^_^ Also JC has a tendancy to make 2 or 3 seasons per story. It wouldn't be that bad for Little Busters.
Also I don't like this season very much. I'll end up watching Sankarea and Space Brothers only.

Everytime I hear about JC Staff Im always reminded of how good Yumekui Merry was. The levels of trolling on that anime was like one Ive never seen.
As for this current season, I still got some hope for Shining Hearts and Upotte.
Sankarea seems to be somewhat popular with ADT so I guess Ill try to hang on to it for the sake discussion (aka: clicking spoilers). I tried to keep up with Symphogear last season, but dear god, the singing was just too much for me.

Edit: Hope JC makes it good, and not mediocre like a majority of their shows. When it comes to the VN I've slacked so much. Got Kurugaya, "second" Rin route and Refrain to go, it's starting to feel like I did the good route first and then it just doesn't get as awesome. D: Hoping Refrain lives up to the hype.

is ~1/4 to 1/3 into it all (if you include the first days before you enter the actual UBW route). And I might be a bit too harsh on Fate route. Balls is a bit too much but it's just so bleh in comparison to UBW and HF imo. As said it needs knowledge from other routes for it to actually have any meaning for why some of the things happen. UBW soooo good though. Wish I could go back to the first time reading it.

UBW is my favorite FSN route.
The UBW movie is like if you held down ctrl through the entire VN, only stopping briefly for the fights.
