Loved Riho's route so much! Really good, only complaint is not enough romance for my tastes but the story itself was solid. I guess I might as well try out Kanade's route since I have the time. Not going to waste time on Rimu though. If it's as bad as Yayoi's, it's probably some random papa issue drama and then 2 hours of boring reading and zero character development later, ending is reached.

None of the other routes are any good. Like I said before one of its biggest flaws according to other people was that they half-assed all the other routes. Also, I told you RIho route was just one of the best pure writing stories in a VN

I fcking love it, it just gets me so pumped up and hyped for whatever is gonna happen next. Even the rest of the episode, the background music was just amazing, captured the mood perfectly. Made me all giggly and shit. I felt like they wrapped up this season really well, and the set up for second season was done well also. I cant wait till then, more " maruu!", " wan", and " muginami-des". ^_^ Also, the Karuta part just made me go \o/ I really hope that was a reference to Chihaya lol.

Yeah but I didn't expect THAT bad. It's like Yayoi (can't speak about other 2) was just thrown in cause they needed more than just Riho lol. And now having read 2 VNs in my life (plus Planetarian), my standards are refrain and Riho haha. thanks for the awesome rec!

I'm fairly sure they basically just made Riho route, and forced all the other routes in to try to make the game cost-efficient (as they charged full price), but they half-assed it so bad that people were still pissed off over them charging full cost over what they perceived to be essentially half a game. But it was still lauded as a very, very good read (Riho route anyways), which goes to show that people were annoyed at the cost but were still able to come away satisfied. A far cry from another famously deficient VN, Dies Irae, which shipped incomplete and got so much hate that the company (Light) really scrambled for years to restore their reputation lol.

There's no real must watch in the last two years, but shows that have basically been the "hits" in the last two years:
Madoka, Steins;Gate, Usagi Drop, Anohana, Penguindrum....errgghhh...Fate/Zero, Bakemonogatari, to an extent Katanagatari but not as many people watched iirc.

Do you have a MAL? might help a bit more. Otherwise, I'd echo ZNF and say Steins;Gate, AnoHana, Usagi Drop, Fate/Zero, Bakemonogatari (if you like that then Nisemonogatari). For currently airing/last season, Mouretsu Pirates and Rinne no Lagrange.

So I'm ready to start watching a bunch of subs now that I have some time on my hands. What in the past couple seasons was good enough to warrant a watch? So far I've got things like Black Rock Shooter from this season, Ben-To (Because that looks fucking hilarious), Nichijou, Bake/Nise, Steins;Gate, and Denpa Onna (because I like the manga). What other recent ones were good?
