I thought it was just going to be Anshin'in not actually dead -> manga doesn't actually end. don't know why you thought Medaka's reaction was related to the trolling. | ||

Stein;s gate is a pretty realistic sci-fi adventure. Anohana is more drama about a group of friends coming to terms with the death of a childhood friend. Mawaru Penguindrum also got a lot of really good reviews, but I personally thought it was only okay. Depends how much you like all the symbolism and stuff (just reminded me too much of stuff I read in highschool English class like Scarlet letter, Great Gatsby, etc.). I also personally liked Bakuman a lot. One of the main characters is very similar to Light but the story is definitely more lighthearted. It's about 2 aspiring mangakas, but I think it's really well done. When you first read the description, you're like "how could this be entertaining?" but it finds a way to keep the story interesting with very likable characters that you can relate to. Edit: Oh, and you should also check out School days  lol jk. But if you're into yanderes, definitely check out Mirai Nikki. Yuno is queen of yanderes. | ||

Dunno if it is the anime's fault that the source had so much information that it simply can't spoonfeed it to people, people who are in irc and got uta and my rants on the history and such involved seem to have enjoyed the show much more. I dont think the way its been setup so long that Anshinin can actually die. That would be the troll and a pretty bad one. Theyve been talking about main chara and shit so long I dont think the manga bit was that smack in the face so to speak. | ||

Yes the pre requisite to entertaining yourself should be studying the background in the extenive source material and wikiing and running the risk of random spoiling, for a show you may or may not is even worth it. think you can forgive people for not going through that sort of thing. Ill personally marathon it later since its so recommended and doing the homework isnt a problem but judging of the 3-4 episodes I saw I dont think you can blame anyone. Not that your are. | ||

It is mostly a cultural thing mixed with bad storyboarding from sunrise, with too much focus on boobs and too little on important details. Most of the history involved are known to the target audience, so they took the liberty to just skip much of the explanations and let people piece things out on their own. Unfortunately for us that doesn't really go over too well, so an otherwise pretty easily understood plot ended up looking kinda all over the place. All the little details that got cut hurt a lot too, it is much harder to appreciate the individual characters without knowing the little things that ends up fleshing them out since the author liked to leave a lot of things untold and implied. Another problem is that Horizon is technically the 3rd series in that universe and a ton of the stuff have some basis on the previous books. The book kinda proceeded without too much explanation for that, but left a gigantic glossary at the beginning of the book for the readers. Sunrise's decision? Let's keep all the jargon in, fuck explanation. Yay even more confusion. I went through Horizon books with more time spent on wiki, searches and what books I have on hand than on Horizon itself, lol. But that's pretty much just the weird way I enjoy some reading with, so can't really expect others to want to put in the unnecessary work. Hmm now that I actually have some time I should start working on the rant post for Another. | ||
