SEED and 00 can be watched whenever you feel like. Seeing as how both of those shows have been made within the past 10~ years, they will probably be more accessible to new watchers. Also, SEED is my favorite Gundam. Don't watch SEED Destiny if you watch SEED, since Destiny sucked really bad.
08th MS Team is a side story to the original Gundam. Technically it can be watched whenever, but I'd at least watch the original Gundam before it. Otherwise, you miss some references and stuff.
Zeta is a sequel to the original, so watch Zeta after the original.

Yeah, I don't see how recommending Geass, Gurren Lagann, and Brain Powered when someone asks about Gundam shows makes fun of me. Maybe you should try harder. I probably would have just ignored your "troll" post if you didn't say it wasn't directed at me.
