Chro is referring to how Usopp's lies become true for example he lied about a giant gold fish that poops islands and later on the Strawhats are almost eaten by a giant gold fish. Now he just got a ton of followers, but I don't think his battle bluffs are going to become true. It could come true if Usopp is known as the strongest in East Blue through misinformation instead of actually being the strongest, but that's still unlikely too because it contradicts Luffy becoming pirate king.

Yea, here's the going list that i stole from another site.
List of Usopp lies becomes the truth:
1. Pirates are attacking the village (chap 23). Kuro's army really attacking. Check. 2. A giant goldfish with poop as large as an island. (chap 24). Dorry and Broggy confirmed it. Check. 3. Country of Dwarf (chap 24). Dressrosa arc confirmed it. Check 4. Wanted to see a huge mole in Kaya's mansion (chap 24). Fight with mrs. Merry Christmast. Check. 5. A cerberus (chap 40). Actual cerberus in Thriller Bark Arc. Check. 6. Same with no.5 this time A dragon (chap 40). Actual Dragon in Punk Hazard. Check. 7. Claimed Luffy's first bounty is his (chap 114). Got his first bounty at 30 million Berry. Check. 8. Usopp is an expert in sniping (chap 42). Birth of Sogeking. Check. 9. A beautiful swordswoman has come with meat (chap 458). Rebecca. Check. 10. Has 8 thousand followers (chap 72, 185, and 332). Well, the Elbaf warrior, the dwarves, and all the toys that become humans again. Check.
Yet to come: 11. He said to his dying mother that there is a magical medicine in other parts of the sea that can cure every disease (chap 41). Maybe Chopper will found it later in Raftel or somewhere. 12. Call the shop owner an alien (chap 40). Well, I believe it's a forecast for Enel's returns.

assuming all his lies become true, that is
zoro and luffy would both have to die for this lie to come true, sanji being from west blue I think.

Oh my god. Looking at the amount of lies that have already come true I am starting to believe everything is really going to happen O.O

The same founding fathers were slave owners who fought for freedom while owning thousands of slaves, this makes them dishonorable, this became the biggest hypocrisy in mankind's history, but most people in the United States can't make this connection by themselves because they don't think for themselves, and let the text books think for them.
Mingo's actions are dishonorable for the readers such as yourselves, but if you guys can think for yourselves for a second, you can see that he must be honorable to his crew for them to willingly die for him without hesitation. Because his crew does not die for him out of fear, they are willing to die for him out of respect.
Remember what he said during the marine fort war ? what's good and what's evil, there is no such things, the winner will be justice and the loser will be evil. What's right and what's wrong? what's good and what's evil? what's honor and what's dishonor? Everything is decided by people, there is no absolute guidelines. (don't give me that god decided what's good and what's evil bullshit, god is fiction just like one piece is fiction) Some people in this world thinks it's honorable to beat on their wife, some judges think it's dishonorable for the wife to sue the wife beater, again same fucking event.
Was this educational? I let you guys show your ignorance, and then teach you guys how to think for yourselves.
You are implying that words have no definitions because of cultural subjectivity? Go read some virtue ethics or some Kant before trying to educate people on ethical theories. If someone thinks that beating their wife is honourable in and of itself, then they are simply wrong due to the current working conditions of what it is for something to be considered honourable. You are once again making the same leap in logic, that because his crew respect him, they MUST think he is honourable. This is simply not true as I stated earlier. It is simply not metaphysically impossible to have respect for somebody who is dishonourable. To illustrate: I respect Bron, from Game of Thrones, for all sorts of reasons, even though he a paradigm example of a sneaky rouge character with no honour. The example of loyalty to Hitler and Stalin was also perfectly apt for this situation. This is a stupid discussion. Just admit you are wrong and move on with your life. EDIT: Urgh, i just re-read through what i wrote, i was about to continue working on a paper but the spelling mistakes and typo's in my post make me think perhaps i am too tired today ¬_¬ Some typo mistakes have been fixed
You're basically saying hes wrong for giving you his point of view and letting you decide for yourself. Nice logic mate. Next, you say he should read Kant or virtue ethics. Many philosophers had contrary beliefs, but those theories and beliefs are still being taught to people to make them think for themselves and expand their knowledge and reference points. The funny thing here is, you are trying to force an opinion onto others while rei is trying to correct a common mistake that is made by lots of people, which is judging without background information or judging too quickly.
|
No, he is saying he is wrong to say a person has is honourable because he has followers willing to die for him, when in One Piece or real life, it does not follow that having people willing to die for you means that person is honorable.
Rei then uses the philosophical argument that he has a quality because that quality an be viewed as subjective under a philosophical tenet. Which is ironic because under such a philosophical tenet, Doflamingo can neither be honorable or dishonorable, thus defeating his own argument.
And all the while rei is being extremely rude, anybody who disagrees with his is ignorant, as opposed to you know, that he is completely lacking in making any sense what so ever.

And among Zoro and Luffy hes probably the one most likely to actually go back to East Blue to give medicine to his dying gf or w/e is going on with her.

Couldn't the magical cure be the one Chopper's sensei created in Drum Island. IIRC that guy claimed it was exactly that, a medicine that could cure anything including a broken heart.

it's fine, as long as I can get through with even one person that read my post, I would have made a difference in this world,
There are people who read what I wrote but refuse to acknowledge it out of spite, because it came from me when they realize i was right.
and then finally there are those who read it, didn't understand it, and continue on with their wonderful world view that is taught out of the USA text books in high school.

No you're just baiting people into an off topic discussion to troll. Even if we all agreed DD is honorable it still would not change that he cheats others which is what this was originally about.

what topic is this thread? one piece, what am I discussing ? one piece character. therefore this is not off topic. Just because you want to discuss about the mastertroll doesn't mean the rest of us will participate in an off topic discussion about it.

People talking so much in this topic making me think there's a new chapter out already. Damnit people. Getting my hopes up and shit.

So DD told King Riku he could buy his kingdom back if he got enough money when DD himself knew that would be impossible, but let him try and fail miserably anyway? Thats sounds pretty scummy to me.

So is honor. Therefore this entire discussion is based on how everyone individually views morality, and therefore pointless.
