4 weeks of waiting and we get this? So what that there were colored pages, I couldn't care less -_- 4 weeks of waiting for 24 pages or mostly nothing... + the impostor straw hats seem like a waste of page spaces to me that could have been filled with actual straw hats and maybe advance the story even a little...

I really liked the chapter. Luffy beating down the fake Luffy will be so refreshing.

I bet in those four weeks Oda's been not only drawing this chapter, but also redesigning the characters, planning how the world has changed over 2 years, planning how the characters have changed over the last 2 years (including side characters), planning out the next arc, planning out the next arc, and running tons and tons of ideas through his head and past his editor. Drawing manga is hard business, quit whining.

To which I say I quote, On October 01 2010 06:21 Sentenal wrote: They have to reintroduce the Strawhats somehow. Oda can't just come back from the Timeskip, and BAM everyone is together again and in the middle of the New World. I really liked the chapter. Luffy beating down the fake Luffy will be so refreshing. The literary purpose of introducing the fraudulent straw hats is to reintroduce the Strawhats. Time skip, two years of shat we just missed out on. Whats a good way to demonstrate, or tease[no way Oda will whip out everything] two years of training and improvement? Through fighting. I can see where you're coming from. 5 weeks actually, of waiting, and bam 24 pages and I get no action. Instead the story left you at a cliff hanger; possibly you might hate cliff hangers and just want a story to be non-stop action, thats fine. But Oda likes taking his damn time advancing the story because he introduces other elements into the story such as humor. Thats why we're 10 years in One piece and only half way into the plot. There's nothing wrong with wanting to advance the story, and nothing wrong about being disappointed but what are you disappointed with? This has always been Oda's style from Day 1. _____ On October 01 2010 06:40 synapse wrote: I loved the new chapter. I'm disappointed that the next chapter wasn't fused into this one, because the current latest chapter doesn't really advance the storyline, but the "fake luffy" set up is awesome. That would have been great. I guess either Oda or the editors/managers are just a fking tease. ><

While everyone has changed, they're still 100% who they are. Usopp saying he'll never flinch and then flinching, Chopper getting confused, Sanji still being Sanji, all of that put a smile on my face and a got a laugh out of me. It was like being away from home for a month and coming back to find that although things had changed, everything was still familiar and warm.

As they say, the more things change, the more things stay the same. While everyone has changed, they're still 100% who they are. Agreed, though I had to laugh at Zoro being the first one back. It'll probably be revealed that he finished up his training with Mihawk in a year and then it took him another year to get back to Saboady, or something like that.

I hadn't thought of something like that. It seems obvious now though :D I wonder what kind of fighting Mihawk taught him since they don't use the same weapons. I'm guessing they also all learned haki to a certain extent.

His training was probably less focused on a particular style of fighting since he already has that down pretty damn well. He probably worked mostly on training his speed, strength and ability with Haki like you mentioned. And for the record, Mansopp is awesome. He looks a lot like his dad now.
