He does seem to have something weather related. I kind of feel that he caused those storms using a wind fruit though by creating an updraft or something like that (idk how weather works). Although I really wish he just has a Dragon mythical zoan fruit.

It's pretty common belief that Dragon has a storm fruit or ability of some kind.

Either way Dragon clearly capable, the obvious answer is someone who master all 3 forms of haki and is probably a Logia fruit user. Enel only seemed to master 1 form of haki. That being said Whitebeard didn't have a logia fruit and Shanks never had any fruit and ran with the best of them before he lost his arm. I don't think Grap has a fruit, Rodgers we don't know i don't think he was a fruit user though. Really it seems mastering the 3 forms of haki is the most important and a good fruit is a compliment to that.
Obv cheater answer is luffy hero of story always wins in a shōnen.

I'm pretty sure Oda said in multiple interviews that making Shanks lose his arm was one of his greatest regrets, and that it didn't affect his strength at all.

Even with one arm, Shanks still runs with the best of them. Even Akainu hesitated before Shanks. Kizaru held up his hands when Ben Beckam pointed a pistol at him, he's first mate on Shank's ship. That should give you an idea.

why should Kizaru lose to enel? for me kizarus pika pika no me, to controll light, is obviously stronger than lightning of enel. and kizaru seems to know more about haki, enel only knows about observation haki.
so dont see why enel is strongest

True but haki or no haki it should be impossible for a bullet to hit a person that runs at speed of light.. Unless Ben Beckam as also a special fruit beyhond haki!
I believe Shanks is like Whitebeard, almost no one is on par with him.
About Enel and to finish up on this conversation.. he as until now one of the most powerfull fruits and the strongest observation fruit!
But he lacks strenght, stamina, fighting experience, haki(outside of observation haki).. he is fucking strong but he can't be the strongest since he was defeited by luffy.. Luffy like he is now can't beat more then 20 guys in the show.. but he did beat Enel :D

I was doing a bit a reading before and people said that the arm shanks lost was his main sword arm, and that Mihawk didn't want to duel someone who he felt was handicapped.
Either way i'm curious as to what people think makes Shanks so strong, I mean take Whitebeard for example, huge, strong and had a pretty sick DF. What about Shanks? as far as we know he has no DF, only that his conquerors haki is crazy strong, but that wouldn't work on strong willed opponents. Maybe his Busoshoku Haki is so strong that he is near impenetrable?

Well, we know that Shanks has been fighting a lot with Hawkeye, so I assume he is just one badass swordsman with good haki

Remember how Rayleigh fought against Kizaru? I'm assuming Shanks would fight in a similar fashion expect he is just...you know...stronger.

Also pretty sure next Straw Hat will be Jinbe and he will be the final member to join. Up to this point, anyone who Luffy asked to be on his crew has joined, no exceptions. So Jinbe will eventually join and that will be that because Luffy said, quite early, that about 10 crew members sounded right. With Jinbe, that's 10.
Besides after 10 it's going to be hard to establish meaningful relations between different crew members like it's been done. Sanji/Zoro, Zoro/Chopper, Chopper/Usopp, Usopp/Nami, Nami/Luffy, etc, etc.
I thought Jinbei was gonna join the crew, but Im not so sure anymore. Might be that he joins at a later date but as of now I think he will be like Vivi and not join at all but stay a friend of the strawhats, might be wrong in this ofc. Why I dont think he will join is because the crew cant grow to big. Its close to being to big right now, just think how little would happen in each chapter if the crew was even a little bit bigger

remember the time when Shanks dueled with WB? They are on par by strength but we still don't see Shanks' potential. Stopping a war with words is enough to make him strong. BB(with gura gura no mi) even stated that they are not ready to face Shanks yet.

they probaly had just swordfights and didnt used haki or merely just the movement reading haki. Not upping the strength of their swords. Could be wrong. we just dont know how the true strength of mihawk. He seems to lack the ambition to be y yonkou or he is just not strong enough.

imo he "joins" the crew and gets stationed at fishman island to keep it safe

That would be pretty lame, but I guess it would make sense if they take it over from the Big Mom Pirates.

Nooo... Enel talk started back up. We failed in preventing it. Must destroy "Enel is the strongest" argument...:
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/SBS_Volume_43:
Reader: Question!! If God Enel were to descend to the Blue Sea, how much would his bounty be? Also, what would happen if he did that? Would he rule the Blue Sea? P.N. Gorozoro
Oda: I see. Interesting question. Knowing how tricky he would be to beat, I'd imagine he could reach as much as 500,000,000 Beli. Luffy was lucky to be rubber. But like Luffy said, there all sorts of even crazier guys down on the Blue Sea. Enel would NOT rule it. Now stop. He isn't the strongest. Word of God confirmed it. Why must we do this every time Enel comes up?
