I thought she would have been a neat addition at the time as well but meh wasn't to be. If we are talking about a women, then why not that Gladiator? She seemed cool and also was having a pleasant conversation with Luffy as well as alluding to some possible tragic background story.

And yeah, OP strength discussions are a bit too ambiguous imo. Besides, deep down we all know that Buggy D. Sabo is the strongest of them all.
On a more serious (and unrelated) note, do people actually want Violet to join the crew? I mean yeah, she was being helpful and all, but aside from that I can't say I find her particularly interesting. I think people really want a girl to join the crew since its starting to feel like a sausage fest. But I feel like she looks too much like Robin to want her in the crew. Obviously we need new hair colors/head types to get a new crew member. Luffy has black hair with straw hat, Zoro has green hair, Sanji is blonde, Nami is red haired, Vivi was bluehaired and got replaced with Franky who also has blue hair, Chopper has brown fur and a top hat, Brook has a black afro, Robin long straight black hair. 3 black haired people is already pushing it, but they're drastically different in hairstyles and headwear, so it's ok. Violet's hair is too plain to be a new crew member. Maybe if her hair is actually some kind of dark colour like purple she might have a chance. Maybe Violet has purple hair. Have there been any colored images of her yet? Maybe Violet's hair color is... VIOLET

ahaha, this enel discussion feels like something I need to take part in:
+ Show Spoiler +When I first watched the skypeia arc in the anime I thought that enel was an incredibly powerful opponent even when taking into account how luffy completely hardcountered him in the worst possible way. Can't he also move at the speed of light? And hide completely out of the reach of almost anyone? And have almost global range? To me he still is the most powerful villain there's been by far, even though his character was extremely bad and boring and shallow. Like, even if he couldn't hurt Luffy, Luffy could never ever catch him and he could just kill everyone and everything around Luffy. He could destroy any ship with devil fruit users from a huge range, sinking them and killing them etc. and also Luffy could never sail on the seas in the first place as he could just instantly sink the ship and kill his hardcounter that way easily. About Odas 500 million bounty claim... Well, his powers definitely should allow for far more if he say, makes a hobby out of sinking the entire marine navy from a distance(unless for some reason he would need to be near the target to cast lightning on them which I don't think makes that much sense, shouldn't it function if he's just floating way way way above the spot? Not many OP characters can fly that high, right?)
As for the newest chapter, + Show Spoiler +well almost all of it was revealing how the cliffhanger of the last chapter came to be without much new information. Basically it was just more of an explanation chapter that explained the information that we already had from the last chapter, so we didn't really get any other information apart from knowledge about Viole's personality, alignment and DF(although you could pretty easily guess that she was involved in Sanji obtaining that information in the first place)
I think that Perona would have been a really good crewmate, personally. Good synergy with certain OP characters, different type of a girl, very interesting ability that covers for the crew's weaknesses, and so on. She would suit the crew 100000 times better than that flame samurai dude or whoever.

Can we just auto warn, temp ban anyone who brings up Enel for discussion?

Nobody is joining the crew. Stop it.

Great minds think alike. Enel is invincible, There was one guy said that after enel's power is known, people who suspect enel will target them will start wearing rubber armor anytime they go outside. Fear Enel!

You're kind of disregarding the fact that Enel is Enel though. He never had an interest in anything below Sky Island anyway (especially not after learning that rubber exists), nor would his pride allow him to do half the things his devil fruit could do. His pride would inevitably lead him to lose against most of the stronger characters in One Piece.
You'd have a case for saying he has the most OP devil fruit, but given his character I just could never agree he's the strongest character.

About Enel, he was still able to stab Luffy using his fork. If he truly is the strongest character, he would have won...
|
Enel would get beat by a lot of characters if they fought straight up. Just because he has the capability of launching strong attacks from distance doesn't make him OP. Hell Blackbeard would wipe the floor with him. Any Haki user would be able to "hit" him and thus cause him to go into super long and unnecessary dialogues about how lowly creatures dare lay hands on god.
:D His power is powerful (but his full capabilities imo a bit exaggerated by people) but the guy is nuts and arrogant beyond words. Arrogance is a very easy thing to exploit. I think it would be funny to see him fight the Light Admiral haha.
Its pretty much the same "weakness" that people have said about Blackbeard which leads to him getting hurt a lot.

Also I'm sure Mihawk could block Enel's lightning with his sword.

Despite the pleas of mercy it seems Enel discussions have begun again. T_T
|
Who cares about Enel.
Also pretty sure next Straw Hat will be Jinbe and he will be the final member to join. Up to this point, anyone who Luffy asked to be on his crew has joined, no exceptions. So Jinbe will eventually join and that will be that because Luffy said, quite early, that about 10 crew members sounded right. With Jinbe, that's 10.
Besides after 10 it's going to be hard to establish meaningful relations between different crew members like it's been done. Sanji/Zoro, Zoro/Chopper, Chopper/Usopp, Usopp/Nami, Nami/Luffy, etc, etc.

You'd have a case for saying he has the most OP devil fruit, but given his character I just could never agree he's the strongest character. Yup this is the weakness. Enel's power is imo the strongest but its wielder is very lackluster. If it was someone who had say... Law's brain he could truly wreck shit though. I was talking about the powers only here, the fact that he didn't feel like doing what he could have is irrelevant to my point here, I feel.
Didn't the lightning fruit get reborn, by the way? If someone finds it and can actually use the powers well... It's still imo the strongest fruit that's appeared, Blackbeard's has nothing on it. Neither does DDs even if he's revealed to have some amazing abilities with it. The mobility, flying and long range and instant ship-sinking are just too powerful abilities in the OP world. For example the fruit's almost totally immune to its biggest weakness (inability to swim) because it enables flying and levitation.
oh and sorry about this enel discussion but the same thing's been on my mind ever since skypeia arc - Why has there never been a fruit that has felt more powerful even though all the users have supposedly been the top dogs? Maybe skypeia will be more heavily involved in the future instead of just being a side story, it just doesn't make sense to me...
By the way, currently the anime's really frustrating to watch. It's at a really meh part but I know it'll become really good soon but all the recent episodes and the next one as well are just really bad... *sigh*

The last time we saw Enel (cover story) he was alive, so no, probably not.

I'm thinking of Dragon while seeing Enel's name all over this page and I don't know why.
Not that Enel and Dragon are one but I think Dragon has some kind of lightning powers too. Just don't mind me I'm just imagining things
