Really easy homework for you guys. Draw a line between two points. Draw a third point somewhere not on that line. You'll see why missing the 4th point won't let you find the location you're looking for.

that said... You only need three points to triangulate a location... And only two if you wanna narrow it down to two locations... But I guess pirates aren't known for their math skills.

And even then it's unknown if you can actually get to Raftel without knowledge from the poneglyphs.

Sure, they could've chosen to code it into 3 locations but that makes it simpler for their enemies to find it. In fact, good thing they encoded it into 4 because 3 are already known.

No. You can narrow it down to three locations though depending on which pair of points you assume are across from each other (or 3 lines I guess if the edges of the cross aren't equally long). Or if it's a 3D map you need all four corners of the tetrahedron. Though since this is the Grand Line, I'm not sure how easy it is to navigate to a specific point with no logpost or vivre card to lead you...

You don't know the shape of the cross, so theoretically the final point - and therefore the intersection - has a huge range, even if you guessed correctly which ones are supposed to be connected to each other. I'm sure it's been attempted at some point and we'll find out it didn't work because Raftel is a cursed land that switches dimensions or something.

I think everyone would know about that and figure hmmm I wonder if Roger finding raftel is connected to him blowing up the government...

Mariejois is pretty close to Marineford so yeah, pretty far away from where Raftel should be. New theory, Raftel is in the All Blue and may or may not have appeared in one of the lies Usopp told Kaya.

"that it was" My understanding is that momo speaks in a very old fashioned way i.e the way samurai speak in historical dramas. Kenshin's speech is old fashioned, but is also very self-abasing (he says 'de gozaru' all the time for example). And momo certainly doesn't speak in such a servile way. So there are similarities but also differences. I don't speak Japanese so I may wrong though.
