Err, sorry reading such a claim just triggers all the alarms, especially without any sort of substantiation. His overall idea is alright and I might agree with it, but such a claim just discredits most of his write-up.

Yeah i expected him to be a higher up thought though i expected him to be like the Sanji to SH, or Ace to the WB pirates . Not like the right hand.
I actually thought at first that that talking dude was X Drake they look alike lol Probably considering that XDrake didn't make any appearance on the pirate alliance nor did he show he was defeated like Jewelry Bonney nor was he shown serving other Yonkou like Gang Capone

Oh, ok i didn't know that detail.
bummer that he is part of Kaidou's crew now, well looking at his DF it's kinda not surprising that he ended up with him. He was one of the supernova that i expected to be independent and not become somebodies underling.
He's an interesting character. He left the Marines to see what it would be like to be on the other side, and he probably joined up with Kaido for the same reason. I'd say that even though he is Kaido's subordinate he will still do what he feels is right if need be. It's hard to tell what he is trying to learn or achieve from all this.

Indeed, since he left the marines to live a pirate life i assumed he had too much pride to ever bow down to anybody and he doesn't seem like the character that is deceptive like law or doflamingo who would be willing to suck up just to get gains.
but he could really be like law or mingo and scheming some shitstorm or just some noble ambition

The way I see him the reason he joined the marines, the reason he left the marines, the reason he became a pirate, and the reason he became Kaido's subordinate are all the same; he wants to see things from different sides. Kizaru said as much about him. He has an odd sense of pride, but I don't think he sees working for someone else as impinging upon it. He is very objective and unemotional. He didn't seem to care that Doflamingo had killed his father for example. I don't think he's scheming anything however.

That's true. We'd have to know more about his upbringing as a marine to answer that question.
I wonder if he is or could possibly become a revolutionary. That could be an explanation for his interesting behaviour.

to me the political message of onepiece is there are good and bad people in all positions of life, and one cannot assume much based on their title and occupations.

What if X drake it's just a marine spy on an extremely risky mission to take Kaido down from the inside? And Kizaru kicking him was just to keep up appearances.

X Drake prevented supernovas from trying to kill each other during pre-timeskip at the Archipelago. Idk if that was for show or he did that for other intentions.

Off the top of my head, there are less than a dozen "good" pirate crews so far in One Piece. And pretty much all of them are allies of the main characters. And then it seems like there are a similar number of "evil" marines. In fact the only Marines I think I could label as "evil" are like Akainu, Morgan, and... I suppose a few of those Vice Admirals from the Buster Call. Probably a couple of other minor characters over the course of the manga I'm forgetting.

Yeah, yeah, like that weird rat guy in Nami's village, or Fullbody. But I'm not sure you can just call guys like Akainu evil. Like, he's a damn asshole I guess, but basically all he does is following his own sense of justice. Unlike Morgan he doesn't seem like he's corrupt or something so far. He seems a lot more evil because we're seeing the story mostly from the pirate side.
I'm sure he isn't constantly being a massive dick to his own subordinates, I recall him being suggested as Fleet Admiral by other marines so he's probably popular with them.

Yeah, that rat guy would be "evil". Fullbody was more of a dick than he was evil.
Akainu has a pretty strong case of being evil, since he ordered a ship of refugees destroyed at Ohara. Being corrupt isn't the only way to be "evil".

Akainu has a very strict and narrow definition of good and like completely has no wiggle room. Hes the prototypical guy who is obsessed with right and wrong and just goes ham on "good" and ultimate rejection of everything else of evil. Its like a "trying to convince the righteous what is right" type of thing.

Oh, Akainu definitely considers himself a good guy. But that doesn't change the fact that he slaughtered innocent refugees in cold blood.

what he believe is good isn't really good and that's how we're judging him I think.
It doesn't matter if he thinks it's good, he IS evil as far as evil is being defined.

What is good and evil is relative. Many people would easily justify him sinking that ship for the greater good. The world Government seemed to think so.
