Yeah right. Berserk is 10 years older than HxH, yet it has the same number of chapters.
Well, Berserk is published in a bimonthly magazine and HxH is published in a weekly magazine, so it ends up being roughly the same as far as theoretical expected chapters vs what we actually have.
Vaganbond and Berserk are released when the authors want. Altough Vagabond took a very long break it was years ago, since it came back he just gets late very often but nothing that would leave the fans asking if it will ever be finished. The problem with HxH is that we are asking this question right now, i think it will be dumped.
As far as i know the issue with Berserk is simmilar with Vagabond, slow releases. However, unlike HxH it might end eventually. Berserk's author is 49, he might outlast his work .
Start of Shipuuden and so many fights pre-Shipuuden are like top10 'legendary' fights ever. Sakura and Grandma vs Puppetmaster is still bright in my mind eventhough that is like 8 years ago and I haven't seen the anime in maybe 7years. Finished the manga tho.
Also, maybe I should start Beserk but its' art isn't my cup of tea.

Luffy didn't pick people who were strong. He picked people based on them possessing a completely different criteria. It just so happens to also be one of the components needed to become strong. He has a strong crew because he didn't focus on building a strong crew.
This chapter made me feel silly. I didn't like parts of the Dressrosa arc because of the heavy focus on minor characters. I thought it really hurt the pacing and was just a distraction from the stuff I really wanted to know about like the Strawhats, Doffy's family and Kyros. The Colosseum part in particular annoyed me because so much time was focused on minor characters fighting each other and I knew none of them would even come close to winning the Mera Mera fruit.
Now I know why Oda did it and it made perfect sense. After seeing seeming unrelated events tie together beautifully before I should have know better. He had a plan for them all along. I feel like such an idiot. I remember thinking, "who gives a fuck about Jeet and Abdullah?", "Why are we seeing the Tontattas again?". Now we know. I'll never doubt Goda again.

Exactly how I feel. Love the large scope of characters. I think everyone expected this to happen but I sort of expected some last ditch 'all of a sudden the fleet appears' just as Luffy looks like he's about to lose to B B.
The fact that Oda is setting him up this early is awesome and more... Realistic in a way?

And he was being hospitalized for overworking himself.
I'm grateful for every damn break the man takes. He loves this story and this world, and he loves sharing it with us to the point where he was sacrificing his health in order to do so. I can wait a couple weeks.
I feel like rereading the manga but i just saw that the chapters on bato.to got taken down. Anyone got a recommendation for a site with good translations? (for all chapters, mangastream only has the last few)
