Eh, I'd say Luffy has already returned that favor several times over this arc. Luffy already saved Law from getting killed by Doflamingo several times. And thats not even counting Luffy defeating the man himself.

I'm pretty sure all those fleet will be split up anyway, like how Whitebeard had to gather everyone before going for Marineford. So the strawhats will have their screen time just okay.

I just think that Luffy could have expanded his crew/fleet a long time ago if he wanted and he might not go through it now just because people want to join him, meanwhile he has been all about building a small circle of nakamas around him, all of them having special abilities. Of course I could be completely wrong, we'll find out next week hopefully.
Like I always thought Gol D Roger had a relatively small crew of extremely powerful members too or did he actually command a fleet?
And Luffy really isn't a character driven by logic nor does he look too excited to me on that last page frame he gets.

I am sure Roger had groups loyal to him. Its not like those guys are going to follow Luffy around all the time, they will just be more or less doing their own thing but will come when called/needed. I am sure that other people might treat their "children" in a more direct and controlling manner but its going to prolly be more like Whitebeard. People will come when he calls but otherwise do w/e. Plus it is nice for him to have more people since he is now doing things like claiming territory (like Fishman Island).

i think you meant Gol D. Roger .. i think luffy just got lucky with the strong and exceptionally talented members i think luffy and the core SH don't really care if the other members isn't really strong at all

I don't think they'll just follow luffy around, they'll be pretty much "on call" if luffy ever needs them.
And I fully expect a friend relationship rather than a boss / underling relationship, that's how luffy does things. It'll be something like "we'll drink sake but you can do w/e u want"

Okay yeah I can see some kind of distant nakama relationship happening and them joining Luffy in larger warfare events but not this boss / underling, parent / son thing whatever thing.
And even Buggy is a fruit user so hes relatively strong compared to regular henchmen pirates.

Besides, 19 pages a week isn't bad. Western comics usually release ~23 pages a month, or bimonthly.

Yeah I guess it's not too bad, worst things I follow are Vagabond, REAL and Hunter X Hunter. I always hear Beserk fans cry tho. I feel for them ^^ Other than those, tbh One Piece is the only one left.
What surprised me most is how so many really weak pirates were on WB own 'main' ship. Basically no1 was left standing when Shanks entered. Every OP fan feels like a Pirate crew should be a tight knit crew of 'useful' members I think. It's cool and you can relate to your small group of friends. Shounen is cool like that :D Everyone has their role, screw fodders, for real tho. But then again, I feel like Smokers Marine G5 crew has slightly stronger fodder and each could at least 1v2/1v3 weaker pirates. And people with certain amount of strength like Nami or Usopp could 1v50000 of those levels of enemy. Let's not talk about Luffy level.

Nami and Usopp used to be shittier (well not fodder tier but shit tier) and the rest of the crew actually didn't care that they mostly have to do the heavy lifting for the team.
There was even one scene during enies lobby arc where Usopp was self loathing for being useless and Sanji just said "there are things we can do that you can't and some thing you can do that we can't". Also iirc Nami literally almost did not help pre-alabasta arc when it comes to fighting. She was just giving orders to the crew to smash faces. They never complained about it and it was Nami who wanted to be able to fight to help Vivi so he asked usopp for that weather staff shit.
