Renji more powerful than a visored captain class :D. Didn't even need bankai to smash him lol. Makes you wonder if Rukia auto-gets bankai and on what level will Byakuya and Ichigo be on...

Well the training is probably not something a lot of people can handle, and not something the 0th division captains can repeatedly perform.
i.e. they only went to the hotsprings because they were injured, plus it was made clear not a lot of people can stay in that hotspring for extended periods of time. The "training" where they ate the food that fat captain was her spiritual energy, probably not something she can give out like candy, hence not something that can be repeated easily. The forging of one's zanpukuto is an individual thing... you don't really get special training by going there.

As far as going for huge power up, I hope his bankai got improved. His weapon is supposed to be a monkey-snake spirit or something but we mostly only see the snake component in his bankai (except some esthetic fur on his shoulders). Imagine if the bankai becomes a giant monkey xD
