It depends on what rock shows up. Black Adam needs to be done in a very small window or it spins off into a lot of shit. Michael b jordans killmonger showed a lot of the emotion that a black Adam needs to have. He's a slave that was killed, his son was killed, and now he's got a superman level power set. The rock has had roles where he's shown the range of emotions that can hit that window in the past but there are a lot of action movies he's had recently where he's just been the rock doing rock action movie stuff. He can't be a psychopath that casually kills because he's disinterested and wants revenge on a big bad guy. And again this is dc we've seen a lot of bad movies from them and the trailer doesn't inspire much hope on what kind of movie this is going to be.

The Rock can pull off almost anything.

In wrestling the hardest thing to pull off is a double-turn where the protagonist exits the match as the antagonist and the antagonist exits the match as the protagonist. The Rock entered the "good guy".. .and left... hated.

"The People turned on the People's Champion..."

Just a brilliant piece of work. He is both a protagonist and antagonist in this promo.

If any one can pull off being a protagonist and an antagonist in the same movie... its the Rock.

TO me, I didnt like the middle part, for a mystery they never bothered to let anything sette and digest.

I feel like there needed to be way more scenes and intrigue between the mole hill and the conclusion.

Like for a mystery you kinda have a buncha facts and you have to sort through the important ones and whats misdirection.

For this story, it felt like it was just two facts that were part of the mystery, if tthat makes sense.

Saw Maverick today as part of a "work meeting".

Im so glad I attended. Movie is absolutely amazing for a cinematic experience. The score and cinematography is 10/10. Acting and story carried a certain 80's charm to it, the typical tropes you would expect, which I enjoyed lol.

If youre on the fence about seeing this in theaters then I would absolutely, with 110% confidence recommend you see it.

Man From Toronto was better than I expected it to be. Had some good laughs and they did a good job with everything. Not great, but I'd give it a 7/10.
Spiderhead was a wasted movie of talented actors. It all felt Ex Machina but without the charm/suspense whatever. 4/10
Dr Strange was good visually. Story was kind of mush but I went in for the spectacle and was rewarded. Some CGI was wonky but it's rarely perfect these days. 7/10

Visual nightmarescape, I spent the whole movie trying to parse out a consistent sort of metaphor or message the movie was aiming for but I think either I misread some symbolism or the symbolism was misused for the movies intent.

6/10 in visual storytelling in my opinion, but 10/10 in fucking spectacular stop motion hellscape. Some really gross awful shit.

I watched Everything Everywhere All At Once. It was overwhelming and I felt like I needed to watch it a second time. Now I'm enjoying videos of people reacting to the movie. It literally has everything and they're all well done.

The Oppenheimer movie is really interesting. Nolan's usual blueprint is this really slick and almost sterile techno thriller with dreamlike concepts whereas Oppenheimer - at least on paper- sounds more like a heavy character study with very harsh realities on politics, arms race, scientific progress and all that.

It feels to like this could be absolutely brilliant or very underwhelming.

I always felt Nolan's take on stuff to be pretty shallow to be honest.
Not that he doesn't make amazing films, he clearly does, but if I want thought provoking material I would go elsewhere.
An example of this would be Interstellar, which has lots of cool science bits but nothing of its own to really say except 'love exists multidimensionally' which is just silly word salad.
Inception is similar, you can go down alot of paths with dreams, but in his world they seem to be nothing but alternate reality in someone's head with very little meaning.
I love both films, but I'm not sure how he'll do with weightier stuff like this.

I've always been a fan of the Predator movies ever since the first one but man, Prey, having just watched it, topped them all. Goes back to a much more primal and primitive time and it was just awesome to watch. The way the main character (Naru) evolves is awesome too but the way they changed the Predator itself is just freakin' badass.

I'm optimistic for the upcoming D&D movie:

Just finished the movie and I loved it.
I actually liked the Predator design as well, it looked unique. I really liked the Predator’s mask and weapons here as well, I would’ve liked more insight into that part though because it seemed like this Predator, although highly advanced, was less advanced compared to the other ones in the franchise. He didn’t even have the plasma gun.

It was a good addition to the Predator franchise, I just hope they dive into the Predator lore more for the next one.

Just watched The Good the Bad and the Ugly, and it's absolutely amazing

At first I didn’t like the ending in the way the predator was killed because it seemed unrealistic for an advanced organic alien to be so dumb and reliant on its adaptive mask/helmet thing that it was hopeless without it, resulting in the thing shooting itself in the head. But it kind of makes sense when related to indigenous people vs technology.
Acting brings it down a bit for me.
