I was under the impression that Jaime and Cersei orchestrated the assassination, and gave the assassin Tyrion's new dagger (without his consent). Then when they are arguing later, Cersei is mad that he pushed Bran in the first place, but the conversation started as a result of the assassination attempt being thwarted. | ||

The conversation started because they found that Bran had woke up. And I don't get your reasoning behind the cheating. It doesn't explain why Tyrion would bet on Loras against Jaime. | ||
