Everyone saw the episode where Drogo got wounded. Everyone saw how insignificant it was. Everyone saw some healer/witch put a mat of herbs on his wound. Drogo is suddenly dying from an obviously insignificant wound, that should not pose a risk untended. He is dying from an insignificant wound being tended, however. Drogo's bodyguard even said he believes the witch was the reason he's dying.
Lets ignore all that. Instead, it's just an unrealistic infection. how is a wound being infected unrealistic? -.- people died from things like that back in the days. Things like pneumonia might be a cakewalk today but 100 years ago people dropped like flies to it The black plague killed 30% of the human population in the 1300's, yet, today all you need is some antibiotics and you're fine. I'm with the dude that just got pwned by Jorah; why is everyone making the assumption that the "witch" had good intentions towards the leader of the army that just sacked her village, killed the majority of the males (most likely including her husband / sons / etc), and enslaved the rest? Yeah, Dany has been coming off as a kind of an idiot to me for a good while, I dunno, I'm not too fond of the character so far.
An idiot in a world without magic, but we already know she has some attunement with the magical elements of her world. I'm guessing that Drogo is going to come out of that tent as some twisted, even more badass version of a man.
The story has been building towards massive conflict with the Stark/Lannister civil war being only the small beginning. Without Drogo, the Dothraki won't be crossing to Westeros (although I wouldn't put it past the story to have some crazy twist where the Dothraki have a reason to go even if Drogo is dead), and the dothraki HAVE to invade to put the 7 kingdoms in the chaotic state the story has been leading to. Everything I've seen on the show is telling me we're going to have a civil war overrun by a Dothraki invasion as Winter comes.
Also, when Dany keeps saying "or I'll tell Khal Drogo the reason" is that an idiom or am I missing something? I guess it's also possible that we don't know yet and we're going to find the reason and it's going to change everything. This show is so unpredictable I don't know why I even bother speculating!

For the record, I have said it like 5 times already, but people need to stop discussing stuff from the books. Like, stop bringing the books up at all. There is a thread for that.
Look up at the top of this thread.
* NO BOOK DISCUSSION, SPOILERS OR OTHERWISE *
Do you understand what that means?
I've started to report every single person who brings up anything from the books, and I hope that you are all warned/banned for being unable to read after several weeks.

Nothing to complicated. It's just a threat. She doesn't have any power over the Dothraki, especially as a foreigner, except for the fact that she is the wife of Khal Drogo (and the Dothraki, especially Khal Drogo's lieutenants) know Khal Drogo likes her a lot).

The infection thing is pretty weak on Khal Drogo's part. He's supposed to be the supreme warrior/toughest guy of his horseman tribe but he got an infection and is now near death??
In any case, the girl, and her son are probably more important than Drogo so I think in the season finale something will happen which will make the girl more powerful/prominent. Maybe Drogo dies or he comes back but he listens to everything she says.

Agree with this 100%.
People even mentioning "x is more of a theme in y book" is a spoiler I honestly don't want to know, even if it's a small one. Book thread exists for a reason.

Bacterial infections are not something you can use your great warrior skills against to defeat in battle.

Let's look at the Khal's cut:
1) It COULD be genuinely infected or 2) The witch COULD have poisoned him.
We don't know which one it is, but they are both perfectly good explanations. I personally think his wound became infected, but I wouldn't claim that's exactly what happened because I don't know for sure.
But did anyone else's gut drop to the floor when Ned started to admit he really was a traitor. I was so pissed because I knew that despite the deal between Joffrey and Sansa he was going to have him killed anyone! And sure enough... DAMN!!!!!

There's no ep 10 spoilers there. Nor has anyone seen episode 10...
If you meant episode 9 - yes, it's allowed. You can freely post about anything that has already aired in this thread. If someone hasn't seen it yet, they shouldn't enter this thread.

Fuck that bitch ass little runt of a lanister. That is all.
|
Ah, I'm so glad people HATE Joffery with a passion. All this hype makes me want to watch the series so much more xD.
I can't be too long till its out on DVD right?
|
Lannisters are starting to collapse under their own weigth i think.
|
I feel like there's a massive overlooking going about the wall in this thread. A lot of people are talking about the Dothraki invading when I believe the chaos is going to come from beyond the wall.

I'm not sure if it's the kid's acting, the way the character was written or both that makes me hate Joffery all over again.
Loved it when Arya snapped the bird's neck.

You people are all forgetting that the Starks have Jaime Lannister, not only is he a bargain chip, but now that Ned is dead, he is a serious liability for the Lions.

wtf. HotBid deleted my last post. I havn't read the book, how can it be a spoiler!? I dont even remember what the post was about, I just remember I wanted someone to reply to it. >_>

Haha this is funny— 14 hours ago I view this page and there were 244 pages (I left this page on my browser open) and I come back now and see that there are 243 pages, lol.
Another great episode as usual. I hate what happened (Ned's death), but it wasn't surprising considering recent events, and I don't think I was nearly as bothered by it as some people were. Considering other annoying things that have previously happened, it's not too surprising that something like this happens.
Someone should smuggle his body up north past the wall and he could lead the white-walkers, lol.
Oh and regarding geoffry... is he considered (by that I mean truely) a bastard, right? Inbred at that, too. Also, do Robert's (or any male's) bastards have any right to the throne? lowest priority I assume, but still yes?
