Episode 4 was one of the best of the entire series imo, top 5ish.

I dunno. Didn't think it was anything special outside of train robbery.

I am convinced he didn't know how to end the series. I've been convinced since book 4, the feast of wasting my time. 15 bullet points sounds about right. On of them being Dany and Jon fuck and it's weird because he is dead.

Book 4 is one of the books that is boring on first read, but amazing on second read. All the extra details you notice..
At least that's how it was for me.

I agree Martin had probably no clue how he was gonna do the ending when he told D&D, in fact he might still not know all the details since he has (my estimate) about 1000 pages left to write.

Agreed on your point about Feasts. It's such a damn amazing book.

I have never felt so abused by an author as I did at the end of that book. I could almost see him smirking as I read about Arya going blind and then nothing. And book 5 with Jon’s death. There is an abusive nature to the last two books, like he knows what his readers are rooting for and refuses to give it to them.

I actually hated the ending of the 5th book as it felt he had given in to his own success. From the bad guys and the good guys can die because of there actions, it looked more and more like if i kill people the reader roots for, that is good. Like he had become addicted to killing off people.

There was so much speculation about Jon and his parents that it seemed like the series, it felt like he was trying to stem the tide of that or keep people guessing. But if you send 4-8 years between books, that shit is going to happen. I think he did an amazing job in building a world, but after the third book I felt like he was trying to outsmart his readers who loved that world.

Good thing about episode:

- Tormund + The hound.

- Dany acting is generally better when she doens't have to be this "tough ruler"-girl.

- Undead Dragon

Bad thing:

Everything else made no sense on several levels, but that has been repeated by a lot of people so that's just what GOT is.

I rewatched a few episodes from season 1 lately. God it's such a different show. Everyone is so smart there.

I actually also rewatched season 1 a few weeks ago. While E2-E4 perhaps were a bit boring since we had to be introduced to the world. However, after that it became a masterful drama show. And fuck Littlefinger was awesome back then. Today he is just annoying.

Today, I think it fits more into categories with the likes of other Superhero-tv-series.

I have changed my way to watch this show from chapter 5 of this season, just enjoying the battles, and dont care about the really bad writing and the non sense plots.

One thing I do like that they moved away from since S1 is the amount of sex/naked-scenes. Generally I don't feel they added a lot to the plot, and it just makes it ackward to watch it with your family.

That didn't matter to me as I don't care at all for Arya. Her story is probably the weakest in feast. Sam's is also really weak, but has become a really insane plot line for winds

Considering the uselessness of the Missandei/Grey Worm scene of a few weeks ago, I don't think they'll resist to give a us a long and useless Jon/Dany scene, though

I disagree that sex scenes are completely useless tbh. It's a form of interaction, it's very private and intimate. That's exactly something Dany needs when most of her scenes are the cold ruler type. Make her human again.

Ofc there are also sex scenes which happened for the sake of it, i don't deny that. Littlefinger in his brothel was a good example of that. But sexuality is part of humans, why not use it as a story tool as well?
But sure i can definitely agree that HBO tends to overdo it a bit.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if there was a retelling of these seasons (similar to Full Metal Alchemist and FMA- Brotherhood), if and when GRRM gets around to finishing the books. This season has been an unmitigated disaster so far and the only way to enjoy it, is to view it as if you are watching a Michael Bay movie.

The wight capturing plan surely cannot happen in book form. It's just too absurd and borderline nonsensical.

At least not executed like that. The plan was like this: "Let's go north the wall and yolo it".
I really had hoped that the show would present us an actual plan to get the wight, but in the end it was a big coincidence. What a surprise.

We will never know, as Martin won't finish them anyway. Which means, wight capturing will be canon, as will be Cersei winning the war by seducing the Knights King and then let the Unmountain crush his skull against a wall because he is nekkid and defenseless.

No in all seriousness, i think they will pull out the trope of the White Walkers actually dying from the humid air in the south as they are super allergic to liquid water, alien invasion movie style.

Just kidding, the Nights King is actually Jon's father.

I actually enjoys a theory about Bran being different itterations of Bran, the dude in a tree and the Night King at the same time, such idea explains another Bran who build the wall long time ago, and a bit explains why the Night King gonna crash it.

Although it's just a theory :O

Dunno this time travel thing is always kinda meh. I can somewhat be ok with the idea of "whatever happened happened" and/or that everything happens at once and time is just an illusion to normal people.
But in general writers should just stay away from it, it creates problems everywhere usually.

I agree that anything with timetravel makes things less consistent. But writers already messed up with timeline/Hodor and while it could be Martin's idea we still should be prepared for something weird -_-

This episode the White Walkers be like 3 dragons? Meh, hand me my ice stick --> proceeds to launch a torpedo hundreds of metres into the air with minimal backswing and destroying it with 1 shot.
