If it isn't then we're just seeing more trolling to an epic degree. Rin's not a clone, because Kakashi is crying. He wouldn't cry if he knew that it wasn't Rin, and Rin would still be alive if it was just a clone. So, we can assume that Kakashi was most likely forced to kill Rin, because there's not really another reason for Kakashi using his best jutsu (designed to only to kill) unless he had to. Rin could have been controlled by some other ninja, or somehow by Madara himself (kind of a stretch, but wouldn't be surprising). She could have been a traitor all along, but that doesn't make sense because, again, Kakashi killed her (when Kakashi is badass strong ninja) when he could have captured her. Obito could be under some sort of genjutsu, but then that would mean that Rin didn't actually die. I actually see no other way it could work other than Rin being controlled and Kakashi forced to kill her. Even then, I see no ninja around and Kakashi doesn't seem to think there's anyone around either. And if there is someone controlling her, then they'd probably come out after and take out Kakashi. I don't think this is a personal attack on Rin, rather a fight with another village. .......Okay, I see no way that this scenario makes any sense. there in a middle of a war, and if rin is a double agent shes unlikely to have much info on the enemy since shes spent so much time in Konoha that any info she has is outdatyed the best they could possibly get who shes giving info its possible that Rin is the 4th member of the squad that ambushed them and that 4th person killed rin, disposed of her body and then took over her identity and was discovered by Kakashi, then Obito would blame him since if Kakashi ahd gon with him in the first place then they would have saved Rin

My pizza was cold yesterday as well kishi wtfff so bad! right! i re-read the manga, the 3rd was already "white" haired during the kyuubi strike on Konoha. Isn't there any follow up when they actually produce the anime?? I mean, lol, in the anime, they are undermining the already-thin consistency kishi is trying to keep up besides, i'd disagree with the reddit guy who speculates on Rin's role within the team, i mean she did cry when Obito died, any other member of the root we've seen so far are kind of hollow (with weird dress-code for Sai), they just don't have feeling do they?

I hope the manga takes that route and Obito finds out that Rin was only a pawn. So his motivation for turning to Madara would not be "cuz a girl I had a crush on died" but because of the much deeper and darker conspiracy of the Leaf village to keep tabs on and wipe out the Uchicha clan. That'd be cool.

EDIT: also this. The language doesn't suggest that Kakashi killed Rin, justified or not. Then again, translation distorts nuance, so grain of salt.

Then again, translation distorts nuance, so grain of salt. its pretty likely that "you killed rin" and "you let rin die" are quite similar in japanese, and they translated towards their current understanding of events and how they went down. If Kakashi did not kill rin, then this week's reveal was pretty lackluster. Its towards the end of the series, any genjutsu or body possession this late in the game would be pretty disappointing. I think its more likely that shit we see now is as close to the true events as ever

Well in Kishi's defense the 4th did school him considering Obito had the upper hand in knowing the 4ths abilities and the 4th knew nothing when they fought. Obitio also had a clear plan beforehand while the 4th was just caught reacting to everything and being caught by surprise when Obitio suddenly showed up in a place heavily guarded + with a barrier.

Might be just a guess. ok, what did Tobi really do against minato? first he shows up out of nowhere, blocks Minatos attack, trys to suck him in (fails) and then when Minato comes back to finish the fight, Minato freaking one shots Tobi then tears the 9 tailed fox aways from him Minato completely smacked down Tobi entirely one sided

We now know for sure that madara was the one who took obito in, fixed him up, and made him stronger due to the zetsu clone. Most likely madara was the one who came up with the nine tails plan that obito tried to carry out, and he's obviously the originater of the infinite tsukynomi. So minato's belief that madara was the only one capable of being behind everything actually was correct. It makes his split second plan to give naruto the fox to use in the future even better, because from knowing nothing he actually duduced everything that was going on in that short time and made a counter to it. :p didnt you know Minato's last name was holmes?
