But madara died right after his fight, in which his rinnegan(which is originally Izuna's) could've been transplanted to someone else (nagato) via zetsu. The question here is, who's this mystery man? Definitely someone from madara's time. Izuna could've very well been dead all this time (OR DID HE????). His whole funeral could've just been a mass genjutsu party. But remember Tobi said that those rinnegan he's wearing right now are "rightfully his." Hinting that those eyes are formerly his or entitled to return to him (the owner). Either izuna used Yamanaka clan's technique of leaving the body OR orochimaru's immortality. pick one Well, this shit is so fucked up anyways. Also, kishi better not go fully retarded and use the "tobi=obito" path. If izuna has access to obito's memories then it might wrap things up. tldr: Tobi is izuna inside obito's zetsu reinforced body. | ||

If people forgot, the fourth hokage fought with Tobi, who was in control of the nine tails. The issue? "Soon after the end of the war, when the Nine-Tails attacked Konohagakure, ". At that time, Tobi, Kakashi and Rin were about 13 years old.
