well zetsu records all the fights. so maybe as tobi watched them he remembered the gai-kisame fight and therefor said it.
i dont know how he can make the reference to kakashi though.

2 questions:
1. the only one left that makes any sense (for me) to be tobi is Izuna Uchiha, madaras brother. he may hate the uchiha clan for turning on his brother and blabla..although its said that because he was blind, he died in battle. does this make any sense?
this leads me to question 2.
2. its said that izuna gave his eyes to his brother. so i guess his brother takes his own eyes out and puts izunas in - why cant izuna put just madaras in? why cant they just swap their pair of eyes? not possible? didnt find any explanation for this.

tobi being obito would be so lame ._.

Well, I guess Tobi has to be Obito. That one statement to Kakashi about opening his mouth seems to give it all away. Taking into account the name similarity and the sharingan powers, I doubt it could be anyone else.

Kisame called Tobi the Mizukage b/c he was controlling Yagura who was the 4th Kagura. The entire power behind the throne thing.

I'm going to stick with what I've been saying forever, Fugaku Uchiha. Simple explanation for seeing him die is genjutsu. I haven't actually ever gone through this theory in depth to dig up anything but it is what I would like to see happen.

Though reading this chapter made me think that it would be cool if Tobi somehow was Minato. That would seriously never happen but I was just remembering back when Pain was first shown many people were thinking he could be Minato. Would be a fun twist if Minato really did end up being a bad dude. Won't happen though so no point in thinking about that.

Also everyone should drop the Obito crap, that shit has been WAY overdone at this point. Tobi would reveal himself to be Obito and then every single character except Kakashi would be like "Who?". Its just stupid. Also I know people have examined the timelines and the ages just don't match up for it to be Obito, though I don't know the specifics.

Tobi is brother of Madara. We know nothing about him except he is dead. Madaras brother is just way too big character to be dead without more deep story and every character even those already dead came back with more story.

I didn't read anything that points at Obito = tobi, so I seriously don't understand where all this speculation came from, he knows about kakashi probably because he collects sharingan and knows of kakashi's possession of one, AND he's pretty well known in the ninjaworld remember? I think that 1 line being the tie to tobi being obito is a BIIIIT of a stretch. I think izuna is still probably the most likely scenario, since why would he 'die in combat' after being blind. WHO FIGHTS BLIND?
