Well, technicly he is dead but there are several ways he might make a comeback 1) Orochimaru got sealed by itachi's sword. Now that sasuke has itachi's eyes, he aslo has the sword so he can might escape or set lose. 2) Kabuto fused himself with orochimaru's cells, which are trying to take over kabuto's body completly. 3) When itachi sealed orochimaru, a tiny snake escape. Yes, it did get burned by an amaterasu, but as we all know, a snake can lose its skin and be perfecly fine. In the anime we didnt see a dead snake. (and why else would kishimoto go through so much trouble) | ||

We can only assume he was near Tobi's main hideout at the time, which couldn't have been far from where Sasuke was. So it makes sense that Itachi is heading in that direction. Also, Kabuto is busy mind-controlling one of the resurrected dudes (who's near the Madara v 5 Kages fight), so I doubt he has any idea what Sasuke is up to... although he should be aware of the fact that Itachi is coming to get him. | ||
