I really enjoyed this chapter. Last chapter I thought Naruto would go kyuubi mode (just like bee and eight-tails) judging from the last picture - which I thought was a foreshadowing for that. It's really good that we get to know the bijus better. Knowing their names is a huge character development - since the Kyuubi and Eight tails was the only two bijus Naruto had interacted with. Can't wait for the next chapter. This manga is stepping up to their A-game now. | ||

Also, a monkey king called Son Goku is pretty much like an ancient sorcerer being called Merlin in the west. It's a pretty well-known legend, if I've understood things correctly. All in all, a decent chapter, though it's some of the buildup feel rather unnecessary. Yes, we know Naruto is pretty much Jesus, we don't need another 15 characters noting it... | ||

Son Goku is a character from a Chinese novel called "Journey to the West". Dragon Ball copied the name though and some of the character from that novel as well, like ChiChi, ChiChi's father, etc. Now Naruto also using 'Son Goku' this name, awesome... | ||

Nah, the original sun wukong was a monkey who is borne out of a stone that's absorbed the essences of nature for many years. He first consolidated his kingship with monkeys of a mountain, establishing his first home. He sought out a sage to study the sage arts, where he learned transformation and the ability to fly and whatnot. He came home and desired to have a weapon, the east sea dragon king had the needle that was used to stabilize the sea according to legend and it weight so much that he didn't feel there's any danger of it being possible of taken. He offered the needle should wukong be able to lift it, and to his dismay, he was. In taking the needle he pretty much wrecked the dragon palace as well since it literally was stabalizing the sea, but the monkey didn't give a damn. With the new weapon in hand, he garnered the attention of the celetial gods, who sought to keep the monkey king under control in case he becomes more powerful, so they sent an envoy and gave him a crappy job with a high sounding title, basically guarding heavenly steeds. He got bored with his job and one day, when maidens came by mentioning that there's a peach party about to go on, he snuck into the garden peach garden. The peaches are supposed to give immortality with a bite and god hood, well he ate the entire garden. He then snuck into the party, put everyone asleep, and drank all the wine as well. He then went back home and titled himself the sage even with the heavens. This pissed the jade emperor off, and he demanded wukong's capture. They were able to do so in the end, and they put him into a fire pit meant to make elixirs for the gods, well he survived it and obtained eyes of truesight as well as fire immunity. In the end Buddah came by, and told him if he is able to fly out of the palm of his hand, he can have his title. Wukong flew far and saw giant protrusions out of the ground. Thinking it's the pillars at the edge of the world, he pissed his name on the pillars and flew back. Buddah showed Wukong that the pillars he saw was only his fingers, and then turned his palm and crushed him under a mountain with buddhist mantra tagged to it. Five hundred years later, the story of the journey to the west begins. | ||
