So I watched the first 5 episodes of Agents, but quickly grew bored of it.
Is it getting any better?

Yes, yes it will be. Have patience. Of course it could still be that it's not your show, but it definitely picks up around the middle of the season.

It gets better at the end of season 1.

Is it getting any better? I'd say it's kinda up and down. I feel that episodes are very hit and miss with not much in between, which persists into the second season. There were some awesome episodes but terrible ones as well. Last weeks was atrocious. But I find it entertaining enough to keep watching. I just really dislike Coulson, who is just to suburban housefather and always kinda seems out of place. Just akward casting imo.
I'd suggest you stick around if your into the marvel universe, otherwise there are better shows out there. I personally much prefer all the DC comic tv shows like Gotham and Arrow (although both are also not without fault). But those seem to stick more to the core material then the Marvel tv show. And they have a much darker vibe which I prefer.
Edit: I forgot one crucial thing! Joss Whedon is the show runner and I absolutely love everything he puts his hands on. He guarantees an amazing over arching storyline and some seriously awesome plot twists. Biggest selling point of the show imho. The episode to episode is just a bit of a grind sometimes.

I love Joss Whedon also, especially after Firefly. What a way to end a television series with Serenity.
The ups and downs kinda made me lose interest though, but I agree I like how Joss Whedon knows how to create a big picture. That grind though… reminds me of Dragon Ball Z where +20 episodes are fillers.

Part of me wishes Ward would die already.

I expect they'll redeem him which sucks because he's done irredeemable things, whatever his fucked up reasons.

Dude. Dragonball can have like 10episodes of Goku charging up his spirit ball, with another 10episodes of him throwing it or something. It's the king of fillers imo lol.

I think we just got the best episode in the series to date. So many loose ends wrapped up in this episode.

Yeah, they drew the battle lines a lot more clearly and set everything up for an epic season. I do expect there to be some "monster of the week" episodes following this one since the team is all back together and all the relationships have been clearly established, but it'll be awesome to see the new team and the new baddies and what all they can do.

so why does that guy want to kill Coulson exactly...?
;o

to get skye back or something. Like..him getting upset and leaving towards the end of the episode didnt give you any clue as to why he wants coulson dead?

Because Coulson is a father figure to her, and for the guy who is trying to find his daughter to see that happen is heart-breaking. Plus, literally 5 seconds later she sees just how brutal her father is (ie., killing two people with a scalpel through sheer strength) and Coulson doesn't say the words, but she does ("he's a monster")... Pretty sure that'd send a guy over the edge, especially when we know he's got anger issues to begin with (see scene with Reina).
And it's about damn time Skye figured out what the drawings/markings mean.

That was a pretty great episode tho

So he wants to kill him...because Coulson hugged her?
You guys are talking down to me like this is obvious. But that sounds really silly...lol.
