The latest episode should be S01E17. I really like the show from the beginning, it started in a slower pace with some small missions for the Coulson team, but now towards the end of season 1, the plot is getting thicker. + Show Spoiler +Holy shit i was surprised by Agent Ward being part of the Hydra. Afterall i could have expected something like that but i just didn't. I am looking forward to what happens next. + Show Spoiler +It almost looks like he was given a cue to do it from hand, which implies him being a triple agent + Show Spoiler +No, he killed 3 people including Hand. They already had Clairvoyant in custody, no need to sacrifice 3 Shield members like that to find out more info. + Show Spoiler +What if he didn't kill them and they faked their death? Using the non-lethal weapons they were talking about all episode long along with some artificial blood? + Show Spoiler +Except for the part where she was shot multiple times in different places... + Show Spoiler +If I wanted to sell something like that I'd make it look as brutal and hard to fake as possible. And things like that have been done with out getting into the semi scifi semi magic stuff that marvelverse has + Show Spoiler +Not when the guy you are trying to bluff is 1 m away and can check the bodies afterwards. And it is a small chance Ward could just switch sides, all Hydra agents were that before the whole thing started. Even if he was new, he would have been recruited before story of Cpt America movie started + Show Spoiler +Nah, I think it's real. You think an experienced agent wouldn't be able to tell a fake corpse from a real one? They might just dump the bodies out of the plane anyway.
If he turns out to be a triple agent it'll be a stretch. What would be the point now? Also I think we can take this out of spoilers, it's almost been a week on this episode. + Show Spoiler +Becuase its a great chance to show of some cool marvelverse tech and or magic And I'm keeping spoilers because it might also spoil the captain america movie, depending on where we go with the discussion + Show Spoiler +I never bought him switching sides for a moment. He just seems too onedimensional for me to do that And his affair with May also ended somewhat unexciting. (And I was soo hoping they wouldn't pair him with Skye, just to fuck with expectations.) And the "how" also doesn't seem that hard. I mean, they had trains "vanishing" before their eyes and all other kind of "psycho" stuff. But lastly I'm not sure why everyone jumps the train of "we got the clairvoyant"? I mean the clairvoyant needs to do some heavy organizing and surveilling stuff. I'm not sure a field agents whose job is to jump through windows can be undisturbed all at the right times?!

+ Show Spoiler +Also there is the multiple significant looks he shared with Coulson before/while getting on the plane in support of him doing the triple agent thing

Regardless of what happens, at least this show is become watchable again.

I just want to say I hate the commercials for this.
My family hadn't seen Avengers yet, but they already knew + Show Spoiler + because they came right out and said it in the commercials. Kinda ruined a big moment in the movie for them.

There's a limitation to these sorts of things, the show didn't start until Avengers was well out of theaters...

Bruce Willis was dead the whole time, Soylent Green is people and Rosebud was a sled.

Think there is a trend in Joss Whedon shows as soon as people fall in love/ start showing emotion interest their character take a turn for the worst. I fear for Ward's health

I fear for Ward's health TV show about a spy agency. If Ward as a bad guy is poorly received they rewrite the story to make him a triple agent and everyone knew it all along that's why they didn't shoot to kill or whatever.
But thats not gonna happen because Ward as the bad guy is awesome and makes for a way more character invested story!

Why do you even reply in this thread... honestly. I can't understand why you would bitch and whine about something that is a big DUH! Besides, if you haven't seen the Avengers yet, how would you even know Coulson supposedly "die", but ends up not being dead? But let me make it even worse for you. The Avengers, they win! :O And there is this big scene where the Hulk smashes a puny "god". You ought to see that scene.

I had seen the Avengers right when it came out, I'm saying the commercials ruined that moment for my family, who only watched it last week.

Holy shit, I stopped watching the show after the first 5-6 episodes and now picked it up again. It became freaking amazing! I love how they connected it with the Captain America movie and E17 just blew my mind. Great stuff.

Wow, that episode was incredibly well done. + Show Spoiler +I keep thinking how they could fuck up Ward's story by making him a triple agent who worked under Coulson's orders all this time, but there's no way in hell that Coulson would condone outright murder. Soo.. Ward really is a Hydra. And now I can't wait until the next week. Great job, Whedon, you've done it again.

I think the first handful of episodes were just too light hearted. It was all about teamwork, they used "Night Night" guns, it was always humorous, etc. But now that shit has gotten serious, this is one of my must-watches as it airs.

Ever since the Captain America: Winter Soldier tie-in the episodes have gotten fantastic, and not just good for comic book fans. I'd say the breakdown is something like:
Episodes 1-5 were meh. Episodes 6-16 slowly got better. Episodes 17 onwards are awesome.
