That's about when Batoto (well, OMAS guy) had to drop it because Naver were launching their app to sell the chapters on smartphones, right? From the spoilers I saw discussed after that, it seemed like the pace had come to an even more ridiculous crawl than it already was at that point. It's actually pretty amazing how the guy can make such long chapters with so little happening inside (the recap/people saying the same thing three times back to back whenever a dialogue's involved is pretty strong in this one).

(kind of like kim jong un and his family) Fug were actually the good guys who were wiped out and forced into hiding, rebuilding slowly to take back the tower from his reign. knowing that Zahard was an irregular, the only way they could eventually beat him was to scout out other irregulars. The way that FUG has been acting, and the nature of almost every member so far, lets me believe that they're definitely not 'the good guys'; but neither are Zahard and co for sure; even though you have to go back to season 1 to hear all the horrible stories about the Ten Families' mad reign. (Although, friendly figures can be found on both sides, as shown in Baam's group of friends.) It seems like SIU tries to discuss the notion that 'power corrupts'; both the Ten Families and FUG are powerful parties in the Tower, and use that power trying to subdue others. As Baam said in the previous chapter, he doesn't want power like that, he wants power that lets him protect his friends, not power that puts them under him. When Baam fights, he fights to protect others. That is the situation that he has been in for the whole series, starting from chapter numero uno, and that's the situation that he'll be in for as long as Zahard and FUG are in control. I'm interested to see what SIU will do with all of this material. TOG can be somewhat goofy and pure muscleflexing from time to time, but I'm convinced that SIU is also trying to add in some 'deeper' material.
yeah i was obviously joking about the plot twist, just poking fun at the logic and the way an author can portray an image. but the twist i mentioned leaves space for speculation, it's not entirely impossible. if we were to look at the clues the author provided and attempt to maintain a consistent logical train of thought its not entirely implausible, until further new clues/facts are revealed. taking a look at the most recent thing he revealed which was the "revolution/road/path" w/e, that jahad/zahad/zahard chose to take, we can pretty much conclude that - he chose a path which granted him power to be the supreme dictator of it which governs the tower - this power is overwhelming enough to dictate what is law and behavior within it and have others agree conform their behavior so a society can be maintained within this "tower" - those who know of the history AND his past aka the current guardian has stated the path he chose was evil by stating he was tempted to agree with this visual personification of a demon, as power. - because of this, we can safely conclude, the person in charge of the whole tower is thus evil. - the supporting evidence to why his power is evil and why he is evil is the fact on every floor there exist someone with shady behavior who has an authoritative position of power. if we were to compare the number of those who were an official administrator of each floor's test, to how many of them weren't corrupt, a large majority of them are FUG. if this is Jahad's tower, then why were a large majority of fug members appointed official positions to govern who would pass and not pass? and if they were not fug, alot of them took bribes whether it was money or self interest to assist those who in the tower are considered "bad"
now on the topic of the power to protect vs the "power to corrupt" as you've implied, i'd argue that wasn't made entirely clear. i think if SIU attempted to imply anything we can say as fact, it's that everyone has motives and self interest. friendly to what extent is the real question? both sides are fighting for power, and is little discrepancy in what each side is willing to do in order to achieve victory as told in the history of the 10 families. both sides look like self motivated killers to me. the beauty of story telling is how they attempt to paint the picture of what we visually believe to be "good behavior" and at the same time, tell the plot verbally in a way where behaviors contradict so. humanizing psychopathic behavior, is how i like to generalize it as. If you have read tokyo ghoul, that author has a wonderful way of doing just that so the reader would sympathize with them.
i suppose it's me but the cliche of power to protect is far overplayed in manga/manwha,manhua or comics in general. if SIU were to go deeper into this notion i think we'd inevitably come to the conclusion that power is power, and that bam was naive in thinking there is a difference between it. rather it was not the power which is EVIL or GOOD, but the choices and decision one would make AFTER obtaining it. Bam could have simply accepted that power and used it to do "good" or accepted it and defeat jahad and then re-write the laws of the tower. but i suppose the way SIU paints the picture he definitely believes power is black and white and that a demonized visual personification of it does corrupt.

It's been implied that Hideon wants things to change within the tower (as in people keep climbing and trying to reach the top) while Zahard is more than happy with the statu quo, hence the association between Hideon and FUG out of common interest toward the removal of Zahard, albeit for possibly different reasons.
And the way I read Baam's conversation, he's not against the "power" as a tangible thing, but rather against power defined as his position within the hierarchy (to stand above others, you need others in the first place; then it defines your connection with them). Basically "you're here to find you 'true' self, the one when you're all alone" -> "use this power to dominate people" -> "it's not my power if it needs to be defined in relation with others / what I want is the power to protect others by myself" But with the oftimes lousy translation they have, and the lack of the quality context/explanations from the company...

Power as a thing is relative, you can't be powerful unless you are stronger than something.
All Bam cares about is being with Rachel and his friends. Why wouldn't he take the power to stop people from getting in his way?
What could Bam possibly find out about himself from being in solitary confinement that he didn't figure out all those years he was alone before he came to the tower?
questions questions
|
Rachel came to see him in confinement. If Baam didn't have an incentive to make things change (and he seemed pretty content with it, not wishing to see her more), then why would he wish forr the ability to make it happen? Now he was isolated again, sure, but he had goals and aspirations, and wishes and deeds he wanted to be able to enact, so that could drive him toward wanting the power to achieve these things... and if he's all alone, then find by himself which power he has at hand to work with.

He's not a reality show creator thinking of new game ideas.
+ Show Spoiler +Uh oh Yuri knows the truth about Baam now.

wtf there are panels missing? just how poor are the translations lol

These translations are horrible, and apparently some panels are missing. How difficult can it be to put a little bit of effort in one of your most important works... jeez. well I just read it + Show Spoiler [rough translation and explanation] + they are just explaining the rules of this new 'dollar show' game. teams are baam's group + wangnan's group vs hoaquin's group. both teams start with an equal amount of dollars, members are give a random amount of dollars, 10 being max. there are 3 stages of this game, every stage the winner takes however much dollar was on the line from the opposing team and the final stage baam and hoaquin fight and I guess they use the dollar points somehow, author says on his blog the use of the dollar changes per stage. if you lose all your dollars you die so in the final stage the loser dies.
first stage, they pick out 2 players from each team who randomed the 10 dollars coin and they are gonna play some fish catching game (rules will be explained later zz more text) so its black hoodie dude + lahell vs fat orange shirt guy + koon.
in the beginning, yuri recognizes baam and the mysterious fug dude is like you know him? and yuri just says shes seen pictures of him but doesnt know him in person (why does she say this? someone plz explain) and at the end yuri is like whats with this deathmatch and shady fug dude is like its a match to pick out the next fug slayer candidate. then at the end he says "hes going to be your worst enemy in the future" like hes already sure baam is going to win (main character buff?)

The hooded guy cut a teammate of the lollipop girl in half during their previous encounter, when Hoaquin and Vincente found each other, so she's got beef with him, and Rachel and Koon obviously have beef with each other too, so there's supposed to be some tension to the first round too.
