No, this is not a joke/trolling thread. We don't need more filler posts asking if it is.
Remember to spoiler season 6 content, and clearly label your spoilers. |

Did I? I have the stream in the background until just now. No spioilers so far for me + Show Spoiler +Rainbow Dash was like "You're watching part 1 of the Season 3 premiere on The Hub" then it showed various clips of episode 3 while Dash said "It's too much for one Pinkie Pie to handle!"

Sigh.. streams lagging too much :/ missed too much action of ep2. Guess I'll wait for the VODs to be up
|
I'll do the same, first episode went well, but then the vid started lagging. Had even worse issues on bronystate. Just means I'll get to watch ep 1 again!

Well for all the hype, it was quite underwhelming so far (some of the 2nd ep is still left over as I'm typing this, but even if it suddenly got a lot better, something, especially for a double ep, shouldn't depend on the ending).

Alright, this was one of the worse eps, terrible dialogue, terrible story, + Show Spoiler +characterless villain, therefore the worst mlp villain to date, and extremely predictable ending but eh , though it did have some redeeming factors + Show Spoiler +3 songs - but not as good ones as usual; Pinkie's gags were some of the highlights, and the animation was good . 2.5/10
Surprised a double ep, especially a Meghan McCarthy one, could be this bad.

Underwhelmed. A bit. Animation was great though. Along with all the gags.

Part 1:
+ Show Spoiler ++ Animation, songs, production value + Writing, comedy - Flat to non-existent characterisation of villain and crystal ponies - unduly epic story without context
6/10
Part 2:
+ Show Spoiler +- Gave up on the writing or comedy - Explosions with no real meaning
4/10

+ Show Spoiler + I had fun with the episode, my only bummer during it was stream problems. The villain sucked, there is no other way to put it. But I especially enjoyed the middle and end song and LUNA EVERYWHERE! :D
It was good to see a little more of the MLP universe, and know we know why Cadence has that cutie mark.
Overall 6/10 - The villain really killed it, no lines, no personality, didn't get to know him. Would of been a lot higher score with a better villain.
|
I much preferred the idea of a + Show Spoiler + when we thought that was his name. + Show Spoiler +Not an aggressive villain but one whose influence caused unhappiness, and by finding the cause through a personal connection (instead of epic showy magic) they could restore him.

Somewhat underwhelming start to season 3, although I certainly didn't hate it. MLP has always had pretty average season openers, so I'm cutting season 3 some slack. Still, of the season openers, this was the most lackluster -- surprising considering it's a Meghan McCarthy two-parter.
+ Show Spoiler +While Discord's defeat in the Season 2 opener was laughably done, the lead-up was incredible. That first episode was amazing because it built itself up properly, and paced itself well. Here, though, we never got a good grasp of the empire, and the villain was a complete joke. The writing some times holds these things together, but even that was pretty weak by the end.
A couple of gags had me rolling with laughter, though.
Also, HI LUNA! Please keep showing up and saying things! Your friend, Cane!
Some good things to like, but not much to love. Hoping for more adventure storylines down the line, but I'm ready for some slice-of-life now.

Still waiting for the eps to appear on youtube, since I wanna wait for good quality Seems the reception isn't too positive overall though, can't wait to watch it though <.<

some people like to take their pony a bit more srs than others. And that's ok.
+ Show Spoiler +Crystal Twilight/10 episode for me.
|
Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from the episode. From the previews it looked like it was just a plug for the Crystal Ponies toy line, and that's pretty much what we got. (Gee, I hope it's okay if I spoil the same thing that the episode title does.) Hopefully the other episodes aren't like this. One thing that did concern me was + Show Spoiler +the songs--just how they were about pretty much inconsequential things and were just singing about what the cast was doing. Hard to enjoy a song that doesn't have any real character, meaning, or unique flair. Unlike many of the dislikable elements of the episode, that didn't seem likely to have been forced in by the need to include playset elements.
+ Show Spoiler +Twi's power creep is getting ridiculous. Gravity spells and self-levitation, lol. Also LUNA YAY.
Watched Littlest Pet Shop too. It was okay, but I didn't really like any characters other than Zoe.
And the commercials for MLP were definitely memorable...

+ Show Spoiler +I still can´t believe wife javelin actually happened. It´s so out there. Need to be at a certain ojective before the enemy is? Throw your half conscious wife at it. + Show Spoiler ++ Show Spoiler +Can´t think of anything else right now.

Anyone know of anywhere to watch it? .__.
|
^^At least we're getting some good jokes out of that.

+ Show Spoiler + The villian was very poorly done I think. King somber doesn't have the real story like the previous 2 season starting villians had and they never really got into why he did what he did. I wish they did the ending a bit more like the me3 krogan storyline ending where there are particles of love and happiness snowing around people instead of doing the same thing they did with the s2 ending.
The episode other then that made me really giddy with pony joy. I liked the interaction between spike and twilight and I'm so happy about the beginning work that they did with luna and celestia. I really enjoyed the small qualities of the songs and where they ended up. Didn't have that epic we're all going to die with happy feel but I did really enjoy it.
All hail the crystal princess!
