shin min ah is ~5/6 on my powerrankings taehee, lee minjung, and hwang jungeum all rank ahead of her, and I might have to bump her down to 7 if I include han jimin. her face is just a bit too weird for me to put her any higher.
oh and because this is drama discussion I thought k2h was wayyyyyyyyyy overrated and Rooftop Prince is my nomination for best drama so far this year, but I still have yet to watch Tree with Deep Roots.

Lee Min Jung's aegyo was completely overwhelming, she took my soul and now I will faithfully watch the whole series. I think though that it is very risky to make a concept so similar to Secret Garden, I mean there was even the identical bius stop CF scene, if they can make it feel new and original it will take very good writing, but the cast is a triple AAA lineup.

I will watch anything with Lee Min Jung in. As for Big itself, it's not that close to SG, the leads aren't swapping bodies more of a direct rip off of it's namesake (the film). Seems decent enough so far, and more Min Jung is just what the doctor ordered.
p.s. I would rank Shin Min Ah above Han Min Ji. Min Ji is an extremely cute girl next door, Min Ah looks like a goddess at times. Has anyone noticed that all these actresses that people are ranking are around 30? I recognise your names from the Kpop thread and figured mostly you guys only had eyes for 18 year olds

gentleman's dignity is becoming one my favorites and its only four episodes in. i end up watching a lot of kdramas to facilitate learning korean and this is seriously already top 5.
the characters are 100x more real than your average drama and the actors are some of the best in the business. definitely recommended!

As you know buddy everybody enters the Kpop scene via SNSD, BigBang, Suju or DBSK and every guy has his omg dat Fany omg dat Yoona etc phase and when they discover more about korean entertainment like Dramas they stick with the actresses
Sure Suzy, Iu and the rest are still : Oh yeah they're pretty cute. But as someone said in the Music thread when I conveyed my appreciation for Kim Tae Hee, LMH etc. Gotta love dem Noona action :D
Still love my Taengo and Fany but maybe women around 30 grow to their true beauty and achieve that "everybody falls for them" charm? dunno.
|
They aren't noonas to me, well Kim Tae Hee is by a year and change.
Will be checking out gentleman's dignity after I'm done with shining inheritance as my dump drama. That and 49 days are the only popular non period dramas I haven't watched pretty much.

does anyone know if the writers for Big are same as SG?
have been following ^ and doctor jin atm, the latter is .... quite boring imo, feels like a time filler drama but its only been 4 episodes so maybe things will pick up. the former is quite funny and lee min jung (like so many have stated) is really pretty lol.

Don't know what to think about Big right now, waiting for next week's eps.

Considering that korean actresses/idols don't really seem to age 18-30, I'd say it's not a big difference haha.

I have just recently come to this conclusion while watching Smile, You. Sorry, not debatable. Shin Min Ah #1. I used to think that too but now... Maybe I'll watch Gumiho again when I'm done with Smile, You to make the final decision.

Watching Timeslip Dr Jin atm, I thought Sooyoung was playing in it for the first couple of minutes I saw this female o.o Pretty interesting overall, pace is alright and I do want to know how it's going to end so I'll probably finish it. I'm not at all familiar with Jaejoong but he feels weird and his voice doesn't match :s
Dunno if I should go for BIG or Ghost (watched first episode and it's abit 'wannabe'). Probably gonna give BIG a chance, some aegyo never hurts. Lets me see if Suzy is any good so that's a plus.

Hey I don't know anything about Korean dramas, but I recently finished watching City Hunter and I absolutely loved it. I am open to any recommendations as I know nothing about these shows. Doesn't have to be like City Hunter, I'm willing to watch anything as long as its good and exciting. Thanks in advance.

kim ha neul so damn fine... gentleman's dignity kinda restore my hope for kdrama... so far so good

Not my cup of tea. The synopsis for Gentleman's Dignity looks right up my alley, but if she is the eyecandy that's a back burner drama for me. Keep us updated on how the writing and acting goes s'il vous plait.

So i see some people talking about big here, i havent watched and k-dramas in like half a year but saw suzy was in it so...Is it good enough to watch? Also taking in consideration that i adore suzy.
Forgot to mention that i thought the synopsis sounded pretty stupid which is why i was hesitant to download and see myself, will wait a few weeks and check what people think then

Hong sisters writing and an all star cast. It's unlikely to be bad, more likely a huge hit. Hard to say from the first 2 episodes though. Suji's character hasn't appeared yet, but she does have a big part. Surrender to the charms of Lee Min Jung.
|
I have decided to start watching I'm Sorry, I Love You. It is the drama famed for the "love is a game... like starcraft" line, and I'm pleasently surprised to see that it won alot of awards and has a very nice OST, but it is hardly mentioned in this thread, is it just because its abit old?
|
I watched it. Cute but forgettable. Had to google to remember which one it was.
+ Show Spoiler [not really a spolier, but..] +After that memory jog I just remembered the ending, That alone sets it apart from 99% of Kdrama imo. I've watched my fair share. No idea why it passed from my memory. Perhaps precisely because nobody talks about it.
