I'd also be very interested in a source for korean subs. Obviously they exist for deaf/hard of hearing viewers in SK, but for some reason any searching I've done seems to come up blank.
Okay. I might start watching today (tried my new internet on the first episode, and after two weeks of third world internet aka. 8/1 mbit. I'm back to standard 100/100). Thanks for the input.

Starting to love What Happens to My Family Now?. Nam Jihyun's acting and accent are so cute and Park Hyungshik's first lead acting role is not bad at all(ZEA bias?!). I enjoy the 3 different stories going on at the same time that will eventually intertwine

I just started Gap Dong. Holy crap it's awesome :D ep 5 so far and can't wait to continue.

Two new Wednesday - Thursday additions are awsome "Spring Day of My Life" - for something that I understood to be a melodrama, the start is extremely fun and got me hooked "Iron Man" - this is just LOL, Secretary Go's gonna contest Secretary Tak for the best Secretary In Dramaland haha. Great 2 episodes so far <3

So ladies and gents... I'm a total newbie to the Kpop scene. My wife does some translating for Viki, and decided to sit me down for an episode of "My Love from the Stars" to see if I liked it. 4 days and 20 odd hours later we've finished it, her for the second time. Any suggestions for what to watch next?
Likes: I loved the lead actress (yes, we're going to watch Sassy Girl on Amazon Prime, looking forward to it), and enjoyed the male lead though he was obviously stiffly directed throughout. I'm a big sucker for the wide sweeping love stories, and enjoyed Yoo Inna's secondary character, though she mainly just say there looking cute.
Dislikes: When the evil older brother plot line fizzled out, it should have been allowed to die. Thankfully my wife knew the timings of the scenes and we largely skipped it for the last 7 episodes.
Is there a show you'd suggest watching first, or a classic that is a benchmark for others? Love any suggestions you might offer. As a general rule, I'm not particularly interested in historical Korean dramas, but with good acting and tight script I could be convinced otherwise.

if you like a little of action and the not-the-typical korean drama, you could try watch "IRIS" (1, not 2). for those that depicts the ancient times, i think "The moon embraces the sun" is good.
there's many out there, but i cant remember many of them. i'll leave it to other forumers to recommend ^^

I Hear Your Voice Good Doctor The Master's Sun
Last year's biggest hits.

Some of my favorites:
Reply 1997 - Set in 1997 Busan. Follows a teenage girl (Jung Eunji from A Pink) and is a coming-of-age drama. Shows how early K-Pop culture was when H.O.T. and Sech Kies were extremely popular. City Hunter - A bit of action/rom-com based off the Japanese manga series. Iris - Mentioned above. Let's Eat - The focal point of the drama is watching people eat. Not as creepy/weird as it sounds. :p

Missing you - is a really good (thrillerish drama) Coffee Prince (a classic) That winter the wind blows - pretty good, a lot of good looking clothes, sick story.

Hey, haven't really been reading anything or watching any Korean dramas for a while now but got the sudden urge to watch some. Like Kronen, looking for some recommendations but mainly from the 2nd half of 2013/all of 2014. Thanks :D

Reply 1997, Dream High 1 (related to kpop-music + romance)
Rooftop Prince (casual rom-com. I always suggest this to people new to k-dramas) other rom coms that I liked, PrettyMan, Coffee House, Sly and Single Again ( kinda generic rom coms but its fun to watch imo)
Plus Nine Boys is really getting good right now. tho its still airing

If you like action oriented Drama, I suggest the following:
- Ghost - City Hunter - Gaksital - Gap Dong - Inspiring Generation
All incredibly good, but don't except romance in them (which is why I love them :D)

"She's So Lovable" seems pretty nice, maybe it can fulfill some unfulfilled expectations from Trot Lovers, being more about the rise of musical talent, rather that weird plot twists. Just tone down the romance and bring up more of the "talent developement" angle (in comparison to TL) and it will be cool

The first episode of My lovable girl was so cringy. They used the "Pretty girl almost falls into the pool but thank god for that handsome man saving her!". Myungsoo needs some serious acting lessons, especially for his body language and facial expression.

Hmm... The lack of subtitles for Plus Nine Boys ep 8 on my favourite streaming sites smells fishy. I wonder what's up.

It's okay, that's love is breaking all the K-drama rules. I love it!

hmm i just got banned from downloading and uploading becos my ratio was less than 1.0..
the whole system is so friggin unfair, since i downloaded many of the dramas uploaded ages ago, and no one is practically downloading them, how can i even seed my download to get that 1.0 ratio?
