Dude, dubstep kid who made his account to only talk about dubstep on TL.... Chill the fuck out brah. Why do people have to vilified, insulted and called names just because they enjoy a certain type of music... Why do I have to be a trendy hipster kid, when I have no smartphone, dont use twitter, my wife got me into facebook, and overall do not keep up with the times, I only go on youtube to listen to music i cant find on CDs and other less legal methods, yet I'm a trendy hipster fuck cause I like this type of music? K. Fact of the matter is that I love the energy of this music. And that's all it is. I don't need the over pretentious snobbery of kids who know what a synth is or n-treble or saw tooth watsit... I don't give a fuck. You can go on talking about ur shit i got no problem, just don't generalize people.

BTW, I like hardcore and hardstyle too so that should give insight to the lvl of energy i need in my music. I <3 it when its a fusion of both dubstep and hardcore shit makes me wet.

Are you serious? I like dubstep, but dubstep artists aren't doing anything for the electronic genre that the 90s didn't already do.

Cannot stand this stuff. I am about euro progressive and trance (Armin van Buuren, Dash Berlin, Cerf, Mitiska, or any Armada artist). This stuff sounds like junk to me, and I agree with some that I cannot wait for this genre to stop. But if this is your cup of tea, then more power to you. Any music is better than no music.

Give this a listen to and see if you like it.

dubstep? more like variations on the brown note. Dubstep is not only straining to listen to but it lacks any complexity to be appreciated by an acquired taste. Only time I would enjoy dubstep would be if I was rolling face.

Hey, that's how I would describe 99% of all popular music, especially music on the radio.

I guess that means dubstep is here to stay!

I've had the same snobby elitist disdain of dubstep that I have for metal, but.. if IdrA approves.. looks like I'll have to give it a chance, and listen to everything in this thread.

can you keep your opinions to yourself? no one is hating on progressive trance and i'm sure there are a lot of people that like both genres.

this is a thread for people to enjoy dubstep and you are just trolling for attention. if you don't care for dubstep, please don't post/view this thread again. Thanks.

This. Don't link trance in the dubstep thread please. It's not "bad" just not our cup of tea we prefer louder harder more twitch inducing music than something id have playing in an elevator.

And you have 7 posts, 5 of which are in the dubstep thread. IT IS why you made the account. And my english was spot on cept for the giant runon sentence and a couple missing prepositions, but that's cause im lazy and dont care. If you couldn't read it work on your comprehension. Plus only the first line was directed to you and that was for posting 3 times back to back, signs of a spaz.

I normally despise dubstep, but Skrillex's brand of dubstep is just so good

I don't understand it. It's just great fucking music.

Overall, I like dubstep from time to time, but like most genres that suddenly experience a surge in popularity, I'm finding a lot of more recent dubstep is very, very similar.

Recipe:
- odd, bassless intro with some distorted sounds and a chilled, high-pitched melody. Repeat for about a minute.
- Drop. Mostly comprised of the same slow heavy bass/loud snare pattern you'll hear in nearly every dubstep track, coupled with distorted "wobbly" saw-tooth/square synth in triplets pattern. Said synth alternating between triplets, "6-lets" and regular quarters/eigths, giving impression of intricate pattern (in dubstep's defense, it's probably the only form of electronic music I know that even features any n-tuplets) . About 2-4 repetitions of this, back to bit more energetic version of the intro.
- Repeat.
- A youtube comment chain consisting mostly of remarks how hard someone came to the drop, how 'filthy' the song in question is and how everyone should listen to dubstep if they are at all sane.

See most of the songs posted in this thread for examples.

It can be nice, but for me, only a few select artists/songs stand out as deviating from the standard pattern. It could be the typically slow pace of dubstep makes everything seem more similar.

For the record, my girlfriend's stepdad is a major dubstep producer in the Netherlands, and I generally appreciate what he's doing. It's not that I have anything against dubstep as a genre, I have a gripe with the similarity of most dubstep. The Blue Foundation track on the first page of this thread is an example of how it can be done. Conversely, the Nit-Grit song linked in the OP is the exact embodiment of my recipe.

I guess what I'm saying is I'd like dubstep artists to diversify their sound a bit instead of trying very hard to all sound like each other/as dirty as possible.

So your basically saying you dont like dubstep because you think it all sounds the same ? thats like saying all asians look the same. Maybe you need to be more open-minded.

He is saying he likes dubstep, just a lot of producers sound the same because they all just copy each other.

alright onwards with my actual post. i didnt read the whole forum+ Show Spoiler +
bad habit of reading first page then skipping to last
so this may have been posted already( it should have) the first song that made me give dubstep a second look

i know its more of "sell out" type song but the abrasive shit doesn't do it for me. this song is just beautiful

and this is sucha good song already. its a nice remix makes this song interesting again

Someone needs to tell the truth, but it shouldn't be my job.
