My favorite part is when they were getting their ass handed to them and they were all like "Let me talk about some random shit while I'm attacking you" and got wrecked. Like, you don't really have to be like "Darkness hides in the shadows to hunt their prey" or some shit when you're losing...

I guess Mashima knew we expected Fairy Tale to win (because apparently ties are off limits... unless you are clearly outclassed and the person has a magic that counters you then it's a tie), so he just did it in the most dominating fashion he could so he pull up an old super power for the new Dragonslayers which will probably end with then getting a loss at the end because Natsu and Gajeel did XYZ to defeat them.

Can Gajeel eat the stadium? That's a question I want answered, cause then the whole thing is fucked for the new Dragonslayers (have no idea what their names are completely blanking on that right now).

good Fairy Tale should win there the main characters of course they win thats the job of the main character

before anyone saids that its cliche or bad story telling if the main character always win look at bleach, Ichigo got his ass kicked all Arrancar arc and people kept saying how shitty that arc was yet One Piece where luffy never loses is still going strong

Fairy Tail is actually probably worse than both Bleach and Naruto at this. In Naruto, he pulls on more strength from the kyubi to make last second comebacks. In Bleach (it's still pretty bad) he gains powers from his sword and mask. In Fairy Tail, they gain power from friendship a lot of the times. I didn't mind when Natsu got Dragon Force, but when Azuma beat Erza but she got help from whatever mushrooms she was eating to make her think her friend's ghosts were behind her, I was pretty pissed.

One Piece actually handles this a lot better. Luffy rarely ever uses an inexplicable power-up. Vs Crocodile, he did not get stronger, he managed to exploit his weakness using his blood. The only fight I'd say which didn't make much sense was vs Lucci, where Luffy was pretty much dead. Usopp's words get through to him though, and he uses jet gattling. That's the only fight I can think of where it made me think the writing was kind of lazy.

That's exactly why Bleach/Naruto are finally running down, there's a fuckton of deus ex machinas. One Piece keeps those to a minimum, and while it's still a shounen, it doesn't have the typical 1 chapter BS powerups. It took Luffy 2 years of training, being out of the fight and not being able to get closer to One Piece and he still lost his first fight against the first major villain, and the one before that he barely one. (Shark, underwater, sea kings anyone?)

i mean the strongest guy in quatro cerberus whos supposed to be Erza level got owned by fucking elfman obviously the rest of the guilds are that weak compared to Fairy Tail

Lamia Scale has a Wizard Saint, so if they aren't the strongest guild currently (besides FT now), then that would make Sabertooth extremely strong WITHOUT a wizard saint.

At the end of the day, I just don't like the super power-ups that they get; even though it was expected.

besides luffy hasnt "fought" CC yet that was jsut a warm up like when they first met Rob once the arc gets to its climax does the real fight start
